our lack of movement is part of the tactics. just like fat Sam's west ham, we are encouraged to hold our shape, meaning players are limited to roam , hence the lack of movement, the more player movement the more holes for the opposition to expose. but....the but is that it screws up your teams ability to pass and move forward as players are too far apart. Hence the dependents on long balls. so formations means fuck all because players are told to keep their shape.

look we tried 4-5-1/4-3-3 whatever you want to call it, 4-4-2 we tried in abundance. We were shyt in all of them. its not about formations anymore its about the same players being in these formations and what they instructed to do/can't do.

after watching today's shower im convinced not single player in our special team can actually cross a ball. none of our players are capable producing a single quality ball in the final third whatsoever, its great we got some finishers in our strikers, but without quality balls to them. its almost pointless. the team could not string passes, under no pressure as well thats the most alarming thing. we seem to be a team that cannot play a passing game or a long ball game effectively.

It's not really that simple though, how the hell were Cabaye and Anita going to compete with Diame today? You actually need really well rounded players and some organisation in attack, not 2 specialist midfielders chasing the ball and not knowing when to make a move forward.
