Not getting into positions where he looks dangerous, dunno if he's been told to be very defensive on the wing or something but looks a bit low on confidence with beating anyone or putting in a cross. Maybe getting extra attention from defenders when we play anita behind who isn't very attacking himself.

Agree totally no need for two midfielders set up defensively and then a lazy as p*ss player ahead not contributing, ideally if you are going for 3 man mid you want a strong ball winner who can carry ball forward, a tidy passer who can set the tempo and a creative one to make goal scoring opportunities. Two players to break up play is too many regardless of the formation.

Our passes into the box and could charitably be described as 'speculative'. This needs work, should not be so lacking in imagination in the final third, and haven't been really but can't be just Shelvey's job. More work needed.

For a player whose meant to be industrious, good at passing and tackling he is a lazy passer with no creativity, gives away dumb fouls and goes missing most of the game. The only thing he's good at is making me invent new invective to describe his utter soul crushing ineptitude

I don't know if things can be changed though there is just no quality in the centre of midfield going forward, Hayden is too much of a defensive player for the Shelvey role and I'm amazed Colback remembers to breathe let alone pretend to be a footballer.

If that is how we play without shelvey we will lose all 5 games and very possibly not get promoted. Dogshit performance and we have no excuse our squad should be deep enough to cope. No imagination, second to every ball, allowed ourselves to be kicked out the game while being incredibly lazy in possession, no quality anywhere in team apart from Darlow and perhaps Hayden who made some great tackles and some of our best passes. Not good enough, Rafa failed to change the game either. All round dreadful showing in front of our home crowd.
