  1. We was'nt exposed by pace until Taylor's injury..... id argue that had more to do with Williamson than anything else and Alderweireld while not lightening fast isnt slow either and definitely quicker than Williamson.
  2. I think we would pay that as well.
  3. Who says so? we always do this opening offer stuff to try and get the best deal possible.... there's no reason at all why we cant agree a fee for the targets we want as our opening offers and what clubs want are not actually that far apart.
  4. See bid last year for Taylor from Swansea, we bid the clause amount and still didn't sign him. Really strange that one. Bidding the amount in the clause doesn't guarantee the player wanting to come does it? No but the Cabaye clause does
  5. Agreed and its not like we play a Barca-like highline anyway.... i use to think we needed a pacy defender but i have since changed my mind.... 2 classy CB's who can read the game can definitely work as Germany are showing with Hummels and Badstuber.
  6. Agreed and while we doing FM formations i'll add my own and it allows everyone to play in thier natural positions but it would mean possession will be much more important. Why new CB btw? Think Taylor is certainly the one who should partner Colo, considering his good form last season. Also, he's still young and has the potential to become an England regular. That is what i expect to happen, plus considering Taylor's injury record is why the club want a CB quite desperately.... well that and the fact behind Taylor its currently Williamson and Perch.
  7. Yeah... the tricky early fixtures may give us an extra incentive to get all sorted by the end of pre-season. When does pre-season start btw?
  8. I would be highly shocked if we did'nt go back in with a improved offer.

  10. 4m? i dont blame for laughing at it tbf, i would too..... i'm confident we can agree a fee with them the only issue is a bigger and richer club comes in and turns his head.
  11. Aye defensively it aint up to much, its definitely a decent standard to hone your skills as far as technique goes before moving to bigger and better things.... i would'nt worry about the standard of the league when it comes to us signing players though and that goes for anyone. We clearly do our homework for years before we sign anyone, iam confident that anyone we sign will be decent players even if i never seen them before.
  12. Ah oh well at least i know now and never make this mistake again
  13. I know i should'nt post this c*nt but this is too hilarious Colyn ‏@CNarr07 #nufc understood to have made a bid of £8million for Nigel de Jong. Can't see Ben Arfa being too thrilled about that! #mcfc #ITK
  14. Exactly where Ba plays atm, he can play both wide roles and behind the main striker as well as CF. This I don't get. He has played as the main striker for FC Twente this season and scored 25 goals in the league in 33 games. Ola John has played on one flank all season and Nacer Chadli (or Emir Bajrami) on the other flank. Luuk de Jong has basically played in a central position all season... and we have most likely had a scout watching him 10+ games this season. And he would fit into our left flank? Not to sure about that... Aye he's played CF most of this season but he has played there during his career...... if we wanted him to play on the left of a front 3 he could easily do it. Based on what really? What I mean is, the reason we are paying £8M for him is his ability, his potential, but mostly the 25 league goals he scored last season. He didn't do that as a left winger, but as a striker. It just seems strange, signing a prolific goalscorer and playing him as a left winger. That i have seen him play there before this season.... yes he's played mainly CF this season but he has played outwide before too and is capable od doing so. We have been scouting him for a very long time, considering we were first linked with him before Ba signed, so iam sure we have seen him play outwide as well as the main CF. Personally if we sign him he will play on the left of a front 3 as i think we will play 4-3-3 next season or a variation of it. I cant see us playing 4-4-2 tbh, if we do sign him he will just take Ba's place in the lineup who will almost certainly be on his way.

Although i wonder with attacking fullbacks and DM's being linked would we consider trying to copy City's 4-2-2-2 system with Cabaye and Ben Arfa in Silva and Nasri roles, Tiote and maybe Anita in Barry and Yaya's roles and obviously De Jong and Cisse upfront. Obviously all assuming on my part and probably wont even be considered but with those type of players it could be pulled off. it means even if ba were to leave we'd have de jong and cisse to play two up front if we wanted or one or the other up front centrally in a 3 or on their own. we have a long season ahead. The much more likely scenario and probably the one that will happen rather than FM fantasy dream land post.

  17. Even though i have watched him play on a few occasions..... the mere fact Patrick Kluivert considers him as the Future of Holland is enough for me.

  19. I dont think anyone is happy that Ba would be leaving, just the stark reality that De Jong would'nt come to sit on the bench and Ba would'nt sit on the bench for a young dutch striker. If De Jong comes then Ba is off IMO, believe me if the finances were good enough id love to see De Jong and Ba in the same squad but fact is its not going to happen.
  20. De Jong wont come here to sit on the bench as theres clubs at a similar level to us who want him to start..... if he comes here he's starting. The mere fact the offer is similar to Ba's release clause speaks volumes as well, if De Jong comes in it means Ba is on his way IMO. As will Simpson if we bring in Debuchy ( although we will all be dancing at that outcome)
  21. WTF, cant say i'm complaining mind
  22. It's definitely not a wind up, i saw the lass on ss news report it with my own eyes but for some reason its not on the breaking news strap but just the usual white strap when it comes round to football... Probably one of those "SSN sources understand..." things? Aye it was, one of the reasons i remain skeptical....
