Probably right about having the midfield advantage but South American has so much firepower not just upfront either.... the 2 fullbacks are this generations Cafu and Carlos. It's all fantasy of course but if the South American team pressed and broke with a lot of speed i could see them winning. There's too much firepower and creativity there to be able to keep quiet.

We have some good players coming through IMO, atleast if they dont get injured every time they play of course. I think we have some decent midfielders and defenders coming through to make a fist of it at the world cup.... its the lack of talent up front i'm worried about.

He's one of the best midfielders of all time for me, and thought so for a while...... his Penalty despite me being english made me hard This game went exactly how i expected they out numbered us in midfield and Pirlo dictated the game.... the thing we needed to do what we didnt was try to attack the wide space as much as possible. In any case i think we came further than most of us thought and in no way in any shape or form disgraced ourselfs and Roy has done an outstanding job for me. In any case well done to Italy, they deserved it and i wish them luck in the semi's.

Dunno against Ukraine i thought we were quite lucky..... in a sense i agree with Pirlo i would'nt go as far him.... i dont think we were outplayed by France we kept them at arms length, the Sweden could have easily gone either way and i felt Ukraine were a bit unlucky. Having said that i think Pirlo has been a bit stupid here and will only motivate the lads. Oh yeah Italy was top of the group until Spain's late winner. France were s*** and despite their abundance of talent in forward positions they carried very little offensive threat (not just against us either). The Sweden game could have went either way, but just because we had to come from behind doesn't mean we were lucky, the fact it allowed us to display our ability to score goals when we needed was actually ecouraging if anything. Ukraine yeah, first half especially they deserved to lead and if they were a better side they probably would have done, all in all though we comfortably finished top of the group. p.s. It's just mind games from Pirlo, I doubt he even believes what he's said here. Agreed, especially on the mind games part although i think its stupid all this will do is give us more motivation.

Let me ask you this question..... what was your opinion of Cannavaro before the WC 2006? Because the WC inflated everyones opinion of Cannavaro.... dont get me wrong he was a great defender but he was'nt even the best Italian CB of his generation. Hell he was'nt even the best Juventus CB at the time. Another example of WC inflating peoples opinions of players.
