  1. Well I can see that of course Chelsea are a bigger club and that he was indeed coveted by lots of clubs. But imo Demba Ba is a finance driven player, notwithstanding anything you mention in your post. I won't use the same excuse if say Ben Arfa went there. I know it's not new players looking for the money but i'm just stating what I think Ba's motives were, aswell as his agents.
  2. Money was the primary desire, thats fairly clear imo.
  3. That Ba one is weird. Obviously his move to Chelsea was money driven but I bet he's disappointed he's been shown the door so quick there.
  4. Defiantly got potential and I like his direct style. Great delivery on him too. If he wants games then fair enough, would have liked to thought he'd get some here though.
  5. I actually do agree with you here, he's an utter moron, but his total idiocy is comical at times so I'm not that arsed about him.
  6. Exactly the same, really want him out of the country ASAP. Not really that bothered personally, he's a class player to watch. Aside from the two games we play them in he can do as he likes, good entertainment (excluding the racism)

    Loïc Remy

Very true, also seems to be an over estimation on our boardrooms pride. If Remy is available at a good price we'll certainly be looking. Wether he rejected us in the past will mean little to Ashley when it's cost effective.

    Loïc Remy

Easy for us to sit here and proclaim moral decency but it's different for young footballers who get offered loads of cash. He has no affiliation for Newcastle, we do. Doesn't make it any less annoying or disappointing when it happens, but it's not surprising.
  9. Aye I dont deny his potential, but never reached the levels he should have for numerous reasons. Didn't notch enough goals either for me.
  10. I thought he blew hot and cold. Unarguable ability but as mentioned blighted by injury and at times his desire was questionable (imo).

When we missed out on him I was bothered about the club threatening to miss out on another target - couldn't really find blame on his part. Shite club QPR but money does talk.

He hasn't been found guilty of anything yet and likely he won't be. Would love him here. Class player who not so amazingly got his head swivelled when another club offered him more money. Not exactly new.
  13. Dyer's level wasn't that great imo.

    Darren Bent

The longer this window goes on without us bringing a striker in the more i'd accept us signing him like. I know he's nothing special anymore but I not pinning any hopes of us pulling a wonder signing out.

    Darren Bent

If we do sign Bent then we need to see a big change in our style of play and the service will need to dramatically improve, if it doesn't then he'll experience the same as Cisse has season just gone, and that's the worry whilst Pardew is about. He does score goals but he's a hugely limited footballer when it comes to everything else. Not worth 8million, maybe 5 tops. Think Villa will want to cut their losses though and knock the asking price down. If he scores v Sunderland then it's all worth the pain.
  16. Still think it's nailed on Darren Bent will be in our colours.
  17. We'll no doubt ask Kiev to notify us if they get any bids.
  18. Astonishing 'Hello Newcastle... aye sorry we've sold him'
  19. I just think Perch can pass the ball better and also defend better than Jonas, and he also retains possession better. But like you say, everyone's opinions are different. Our fans can be bellends but you only have to look back a few pages on here to see how much derision he brought after each match. If he stays next season he needs to be what Perch was, not starting every week and struggling to even do the basics.
  20. His crap is still better than Perch's good. Disagree entirely.
  21. Of course no one deserves abuse, it's not called for. Dont dispute his work rate or his effort, its commendable. Quite simply however that is his sole plus point as a footballer and Pardew is crazy enough to have him playing every week. When a player can barely pass a ball 10 yards it's worrying. Like I say nothing personal but i'd sell if it were up to me.
  22. I dont hate him but come on, he's awful man. Last season he was consistently poor, game by game and imo he's been past his best for a long time. Pardew plays him week in week out and he offers nothing defensively or offensively, so it may be the managers fault.
  23. Probably can't blame the club just that sense of Deja Vu from last summer is creeping back.
  24. Exactly, he's toxic and he's the one with the job of trying to lure players here.
  25. It's not about optimism, it's just criticising the things that have happened and I don't agree with (which I have done) from the rest. I'm not going to be raging about lack of signings on the 2nd July. IMO our recruitment is the one thing we've done pretty well at. JFK is a massive spanner in the works, but we just have to wait and see what impact he actually has. A balanced view but can you really envisage JFK having any impact other than negative?
