Would be a brilliant signing for them.

Nothing materializes because he's an overrated defender that gets leaped with praise from our fans because he plays with passion and pride. When in reality and your looking from the outside, he's a clown of a centre back who still makes rookie mistakes and will never be any better than the standard he's currently at, which is average at best. Neeee chance he's going anywhere bigger than us. Aye some decent points there. Taylor aint a young player anymore but without Colo alongside him he still makes the same errors he made years ago. Its difficult to dislike him with his passion etc but he can be frustrating.
-
Injuries have stunted his progress, he can never get a settled run of games.
-
Well, if i were judging him on his surname i would think him a complete waste of a shirt. Aye me to, but a lot of our fans think Shola can do no wrong.
-
Sammy isn't a Premiership player imo but only time will tell. Could be majorly wrong here but my view is that people have high hopes for him purely because of his surname.
-
imo it's because he embodies everything that Newcastle is about. Passionate and a heart on his sleeve type bloke - if a little foolish. Exactly how Newcastle should be. We may have blown the league all them years back but I can't remember being more excited supporting the club, it eclipses Robsons era for me. Now it's the total opposite - an apathetic attitude filtering from the stands which mainly stems from the fact that the fans feel they can't win this battle with Ashley, if they complain he'll only go and pull off another stunt in his own idiosyncratic bitter way. The nostalgic feelings of wanting him back is testament the current drivel and sheer bullshit we a drip fed by the board. We're called United for a reason.

Basically underlining what a lot of us say on here. Our club is ran by utter arseholes.
-
Fucking love him, got this cursed football club that close to a Premier League title, and he knows what it's about. What a shame it never worked out second time coz we'd be up there again if he had the chance.
-
Not as if our players are forever moaning about wanting to leave either, in fact most state they'd prefer to stay. That shadow is always created by the idiots in charge.

Already been said they won't do any thing until July. Got to let the good players move before we pretend we're trying to do any thing other wise we might have to buy some of them. Before the season ended, they said they were going to do the transfer business early and now they say not till July. I wonder if they are waiting to see of they get any bids for players before deciding who to buy. Back in January, they said they were working hard on their Summer targets because they were supposedly going to recruit a lot of young players to pad out the squad because we haven't got the youngsters coming through. It's hard to believe anything that comes out of the club because they change their story too often. The last line sums it up nicely, hard to trust a single word these lot tell us. I know it's early but i'm really starting to believe this will turn into another farcical transfer summer. This need to sell before we buy rubbish, why? We are forever told by the club of the sound financial footing we are under, we shouldnt be even talking about selling our players. It's as if Ashley is secretly wanting offers. Clearly if a player is set on leaving or a stupid Carrolesque bid comes in for someone, then thats understandable. The club should be making positive noises about strengthening the side, not this constant verbal propaganda of our 'stars' leaving.

If he licks her out like he crosses a ball then they're made for each other.
-
Always used to reckon he'd play for us at some point in his career.
-
Without Colo the whole defence descends into horrific form - not bringing in an experienced replacement would be a massive error of judgement from us but an entirely predictable one. We only have to look at the period of games he was injured to see how much we missed him. Steven Taylor is great alongside him but looks terrible when not.
-
Yanga-Mbiwa will be a quality player for us, but i'm not sure he's a direct replacement for Colo. If Colo is leaving you hope the club has something sorted out and he's replaced with proven quality.
-
Ashley to buy someone back for 3 mil more than he sold him at - months later? Erm no.
-
Wonder if he see's out the 4 years. he seems to want out the minutes things go wrong imo.
-
Gladbach had champions league football at the start of last season. Aye I thought he'd choose someone bigger than them and us, if he had the offers.
-
Yeh agree with that - but it's a shame that Premier League status seems to be the pinnacle of the clubs ambitions, and coupled with the fact that like you say, any players coming in will be mirrored by players leaving. We've only had one top half finish under Ashleys tenure and its no surprise given the logistics of our 'model'
-
No I wont put a figure on it - not an expert on club finances, thats just my opinion. Think if we really wanted to bring players in then it wouldn't be a problem, we just always want them at their absolute cheapest. Deloitte ranks us at 20th in Europe - hardly striking of a club that's skint.
-
I don't believe that's true at all, I do believe that if the club can afford it (without Ashley having to put his hand in his pocket) then whatever the price, deals will be done. The downside is, if the club can't afford it (without Ashley's help) then it ain't going to happen. Which is fine IMO Absent an Oligarch or a Sheik (and with FFP) it's the right thing. See I think we can afford it. Obviously not stupid massive fee's but I have always maintained the money is there - just Ashley is immensely stubborn on spending it. I could be wrong but thats my view.
-
Yeh no denying that, but to describe how confident I am we will bring in the players required - for the fee's they're worth - i'd say not very. Our policy is a load of bollocks, completely mythologized by our board into something its not.
-
Rather unconfident already tbh. We're just s*** at bringing the required in. Took us a year to replace Carroll, we still haven't replaced Ba. The last close season we failed to strengthen when it was obvious we needed to. We got the players in in January but it's arguable we only spent that money as we were so close to the drop. If Ashley feels he can get by on spending the bare minimum then he'll do it - so any links to big names or good prospects i'm not buying it - think its gonna be another real disappointment.

Was Benzema the one who got brought on vs Dortmund in that 2nd leg and immediately changed the game? Could be wrong but positive it was him. When he's up for it he looks absolutely lethal.
-
Always looks exceptional Benzema when i'v watched him play.
