Leverkusen favorites to sign Alderweireld, thought he was Roma bound.
-
Get in. Le Fondre & Tomkins it is then.
-
If that's how they view it then the club saw fit to bring in only Anita as a major signing and thought that would do an entire season (with more fixtures) up until now. Utterly embarrassing.
-
Only a matter of time before this is the official club line.
-
Aye the rest of them I aint heard of, might have seen that Diakite's name mentioned somewhere.
-
Hernandez is a talented player but seems to be injured a fair bit. Monumental upgrade on Danny Graham like.
-
Getting linked with Abel Hernandez these lot today.
-
That's the thing, he's just far to similar to Cisse.
-
Really can't see it. Would be hugely surprised if we signed him
-
It's not even that so much, you can excuse a player like that so long as doesn't ruin the rest of the side. Hernandez thrives in various different systems at Man United and with different partners, Inzaghi did throughout his career. But every time you play Bent you HAVE to build the side around his ugly strengths. He's just smack average and not worth it. In all honesty he'd have probably been a better fit than Cisse for us last season the way we were set up to play, but by christ if that's the long term future of the club I'm against the Carroll signing, but I'd much much much rather have him than Bent. I couldn't think of much worse fits in terms of signings, apart from maybe Carlton Cole. I agree with that - the two you mention though Hernandez and Inzaghi were superior players. Bent is lazy imo and almost relies on tap ins and like you say his attitude is cringeworthy. Avoid.

Would be canny if he scored v the mackems like.
-
Don't see anything to do with Bent fitting Ashley's blueprint like.
-
Don't rate Bent at all sorry, combine that with the fact he loves himself so much. In terms of poaching goals probably is pretty decent - but we already have that type in Cisse who is a better all round player who works harder. If Bent isn't getting any chances it's like having 10 men. He offers absolutely nothing outside of the box.
-
They really do seem to have some immense players coming through. Would love Newcastle to try for Nacer Chadli but he seems destined for better things.

Was creased reading that bit about the photo if i'm honest. Some were on twitter today stating that abusing his family is not called for. I'd hardly call bite gestures on a picture 'abuse', especially when they're not even aimed at his lass or his kids.

It's all about quality over quantity for me. We don't need half a dozen bodies, we just need a couple of class players in the right position. Without doubt, but of concern is that our lowly league position going into Jan last season was what triggered the spending. Quite conceivable that we'll just drift through the next transfer window with the same attitude we did last summer.
-
Aye it's not fully to blame. But they're running the risk of a repeat imo if they do not bring a few in this summer.
-
You're looking on a massive over-reliance on Ben Arfa to create the chances, as barely anyone else does in that team. The other players should chip in with more goals, but that'll only start happening when they dare to take a fucking shot.
-
“When you look back, and we always do, Mike and I always look at where we are as a business – but did we make a mistake in the summer? I think we did.” Llambias, admitting his own shortcomings, 7 Feb 2013. Admittance is one thing, learning from the mistakes is quite another. Bear in mind that players will probably leave aswell, and it's open to debate if they'll get replaced, at least in time. The side is crying out for some width and more creativity - plus the obvious one that is goals. Apart from Cisse it's no where near good enough.
-
Exactly - if the club say they brought the spending forward in Jan the season just gone then they're admitting their own shortcomings. Will be astonishingly bad if the club repeats what they did last summer.
-
If they had to, they would somehow. We have to, and likely wont.

The clubs revenue will continue to be poor if we're a whoring project for Sports Direct. From the outside looking in it's just shoddy and unattractive.
