Yep agree with that. I'v watched the interview and it's awful in honesty. Riddled with excuses. He's in massive bother if they bottle it again tomorrow.
  2. Think they were both in and out. Taylor missed the latter stages. Maybe i'm forgetting any injuries we had due to how we did that season. Under previous regimes though we were truly fucked with injuries.
  3. Seems to be loads or hardly any. Last season we were fine apart from Ben Arfa.

Fair do's. I was really happy with all 3 performances at the SOL and was thankful they got a point last season at SJP, aswell as missing a pen. If i'm brutally honest i'l take a point leading up to a derby, home and away. Just as long as they dont lose. Sunday was unforgivable however.

The last paragraph saves it a little bit, and there is a nice dig at sunderland. Doesnt seem massively controversial to me, just not ideal. His tactics are abysmal but these comments dont bother me too much. Would you prefer an insincere Di Canio-esque chest beating about pride? He has been honest, lets move on.... That last paragraph is the worst for me. Who the hell is he to take credit for all the derby defeats we've inflicted on them? We were unbeaten at St James for 13 years before this muppet took charge. He's broken the spell for Sunderland and if he's here next season I expect Di Canio to give him another Di-caning. If he couldn't get the better of them when they should have been crushed by relegation fear, then I don't hold much hope for him under normal circumstances. Spot on. Easy to forget that we were two minutes away from losing at home last season too after an absolutely identical first half. We only managed a point because Sessegnon walked. Two desperate home displays coming off the back of a 5-1 win and he reckons criticism is heavy handed. Cannot believe he has the nerve. He hasn't got the mentality for games like this tbh. You can kill games at home to Stoke and Norwich and Fulham stone dead and bore everyone to tears before stealing a goal. You can't do that in the derby ffs, the mentality should be to pulverise them, not to keep it tight against a team with no goalscorers! Utter tool. For all the chatter about "stability", I can't believe there's anyone who genuinely wants to watch another season of this dreary rubbish. Excluding Sundays shambles we've done pretty well in derbies under him. All 3 away performances we've outplayed them and were unlucky not to win the ones we drew. I'll give you the 1st half's of last seasons but 2nd half we murdered them at SJP - should've won. Again this isnt to defend the rest of his remarks which are obviously desperate but I hardly think he's personally attempting to claim credit for our record over them in past seasons. He needs a result tomorrow Pardew or it's the start of the end imo.
  6. We always seem to have more injuries than we should. Souness & Roeder despite being poor managers had decimated squads - Robson always had plenty aswell.

Not playing devils advocate here but I can't see him claiming credit for any of the past defeats we dished out to them in that quote there.

Desperate comments from him to say the least. Beginning to remind me of Roeder when he felt the pressure.
  9. Lampard scored a beauty against us back in the Robson days - just pinged it in off his laces instinctively. Rooney has scored a few aswell.
  10. He ruffled a lot of feathers at Liverpool and had something to say about almost everyone - bearing that in mind I think quite a lot of this country don't particularly like him as a character and let them feelings distract them from his managerial achievements - which are good. They never actually give much thought to what he does on the pitch. I'v never minded him, he's a cheeky bastard who likes to goad the opposition
  11. He's an excellent manager imo - his CV barring Inter is impressive, they were probably the wrong club at the time. His outspoken nature puts people off, and admittedly he loves to tinker with line ups.
  12. Aye, shame coz I really think he'd get the side ticking.
  13. I imagine Rafa will have opportunities at larger clubs in Europe after doing a good job with Chelsea. That's true but I do think he'd be interested in joining us. Like mentioned before it's budget / salary issues that might put him off. Club stature I don't think he'd have an issue with. Think he came quite close to joining Villa remember.
  14. I think the 8 year contract will be meaningless if we start the next campaign like we are ending this one. It bears down to how ambitious you think our owners are to how sackable you think Pardew is. He won't go in the summer, even if we finish 17th and lose all our next run of games. The fact that Pardew is already wittering on about next season and it looks like we're gonna move for one of his transfer targets suggests he'll be here in August, and he's aware of it. It'll be entirely different then though if the same dross is served up on a weekly basis. No patience from the stands and their will be calls for him to be sacked, publicly. He's had an enormous benefit with the patience given to him this season. If we start really s*** next season the owner will have some decisions to make. When you lose the supporters that's usually it at Newcastle. I'v mentioned Rafa before and I'd love him at SJP, obviously highly unlikely like but one can hope.
  15. I agree they are massively inconsistent - my fear is they will cut us to ribbons if we play like we did on Sunday? They're a dangerous side with pace and the way we defend that has to be a worry. If Suarez is up for it it could be a long 90 minutes.
  16. I'm getting mortol for that fucker. If we lose to WBA on sat it will be unbearable.
  17. Liverpool who just drew 0-0 against Reading? Aye, but their Keeper was unreal. Liverpool create bucket loads of chances and we dont keep clean sheets.
  18. Would have the nasty b****** back tomorrow. We need some aggression ffs. Admittedly it would be concern over Pardews long ball fixation.
  19. Other games that provoked a similar reaction from me were Sporting away and AZ away - when we were dropped like bad habits out the uefa cup. Just that numb feeling when you can't believe what you've just witnessed.
  20. Yep, feel miles worse. Getting relegated was a strange one coz we knew it would get rid of some of our arsehole players. Sunday was just an absolute nightmare.
  21. It's been a dreadful few days and I just cannot shake the image of their 3rd one flying in. Truly sickening. Obviously avoided RTG and all the papers - all time low for me after a result. Even after 1-0 to Villa 2009.
