So, a few deals this summer to compare with:
Mason Mount £60M
Ruben Neves £48M
Riyad Mahrez £30M
Moussa Diaby £52M
Sandro Tonali £55M
Andre Onana £48M
Declan Rice £105M
It's also said Harvey Barnes will cost us £38M and we've had a bid of £30M for Tino Livramento turned down, as Southampton value him at £50M.
So then to say that Newcastle are putting an unrealistic high price for Allan Saint-Maximin at £30M is just ridiculous!
£30Mil is cheap if anything - he is 26 - not even at his prime.

Joao Pedro is looking a tidy deal for Brighton.

How much do we reckon a Trippier replacement will cost in 2-3 years?

Would be rude not to
Lets got for it Isn't there some rational that the commercial income he'll generate will off-set his costs?

Forgot Yedlin plays for Inter Miami - I bet he never thought he'd be playing with Messi

It's all down to whether he's over his ACL - there is no doubting his ability.

If Barella goes to Liverpool I hope we never hear klopp speak of any ceiling ever again. His owners are directly involved in keeping it a closed shop.
Are they linked with him?

PIF should be trying to funnel as much £££ into our club. Fee should at least be on par with Nevez. £30 mil sounds low.
-
Has the fee been confirmed?

Evening everyone, hope you’re doing well. Here’s a video detailing everything you need to know about Harvey Barnes and why he’s such an underrated signing in 3 minutes for those interested. Think he’s the perfect fit for Eddie Howe’s system out wide left and will be a fixture in the first 11 moving forward. Would love to hear your thoughts and answer any questions you may have, cheers!
He pretty much summed it up - solid but unspectacular signing.

I’m still hopeful of a Chiesa loan to buy or sneak Raphina in at the end
I hope so as technically we've not added bodies to the squad with this deal.

Mitro man - you are better than that.

Not think £40 is a lot? ? Spend another £40 mil and we get one of the best prospects in the world
-
£25 mil would be a ridiculously cheap price -yes he lacks consistency but on his day he is unplayable. I am not questioning selling him - I think I have been pro- selling him in the past. It just has to be at the right price.

I haven't got the same attachment to him as many on here, as someone else pointed out earlier not caring about the club under Ashley meant I missed most of his best performances here. I still got a pang of sadness reading the thread title though, and £30 million seems a bit on the low side. Still, it's needed to help the club progress I guess so I can live with that.
Is progress spending it on Barnes though? I like him as a player but can't say he's a huge step up from Maxi.
-
it makes no sense to sell Maxi to fund Barnes - it is like a sideways move. Kvaratskhelia - or someone of that ilk yes.

Go to Napoli, Maxi.
Swap deal - cash + Maxi for Kvaratskhelia....now we are talking

£30 mil is poor - PIF sort it out. Pretend we are Chelsea.

Miggy back in the goals
