  1. tbh I more keen on getting a return on Wilson than Tripps.  Goals win games and Wilson is just injured far too often, Tripps for me is still class.

    Never mind any personal  rumours.

It's Bayern Munich, one of the top elite clubs in Europe.

As much as I Iove Newcastle, I think every players head would be turned if they were interested!

It's probs his last chance to win a trophy as well.  Still be gutted if he goes.

  3. I thought the whole reason for coming to Newcastle was because he was home sick and wanted to be nearer home.  So am surprised he is going abroad again albeit with a couple of players he knows.

If the personal problems are to be believed, it’s not hard to understand why he would want a change of scenery.

But even from a footballing POV it’s not hard to see why he would want to go - last chance to play CL football, 2 English players there already, who would make it easier to settle, likely no European football here next season etc.

I can 100% understand why he wants to go.  Last chance to win silverware basically.

Loan makes no sense - even transfer will be a huge loss. Yes he's been off form for the past month he's still been on fire most the season.  Be a huge hole in the dressing room as well.

FFP is a protection racket for the established clubs but it scales right.

The so called big 6 are protected from challengers but the also the rest of the league is shielded is from upstarts like forest who want to come up and cement the place in the league.

to be frank, most clubs in the EPL don’t want to compete they just want to enjoy the gravy train and reap the rewards.

FFP actually benefits most of the clubs when you look at it from a business sense.

I don't understand how it benefits any club other than the established big 6. They must have been laughing at the other PLs who voted it in - they've been mugged.

  7. What I can't get my head around is why PL clubs voted to bring in FFP? I understand they were concerned about rising wages, transfer fees etc, but has it actually had 'any' impact on that? Wages are still going up astronomically, and records are continuing to be broken on transfer fees paid.  The only thing FFP seems to have done is limit a clubs ability in being able to afford to pay them.  It is like they had no foresight to think "how is this going to affect us grow in the future".

  8.

Gary talks about FFP on 44 mins - highlight is he thinks it needs to be changed as he says "it was brought in by the elite to protect the elite" (the others in the podcast kept very quiet), Ian thought it will never come to ahead as City will keep dancing round the PL, Gary agreed (something I think we all agree).

If he’s buying property in the north west he’s heading to Manchesters or Liverpool

Do you think it's a typo and they think they mean North East? As much as I don't want Bruno sold if he had to be I don't think I could stomach him going to City or Liverpool.  More like Barca or Madrid.

I dont think people actually understand what Ashworths role is.

No I think people do - he has responsibility (amongst other things) of our recruitment strategy, my point is he clearly developed said strategy at Brighton which has been very successful.  Generating Brighton hundreds of millions in sales by targeting certain markets.  We have yet to see a similar strategy being implemented at Newcastle - I was hoping these are would be type of players we would also be in the mix for.
