  1. This. Not as bad backup as people make out, just shouldn't be in first team Yep. Could always use him for cup games. Be nice if we don't have to field an A-squad in Carling or FA but still put a solid team on the field (Simpson, Marveaux, Amalfitano, Raylor, etc.) Uh-oh... Oh no what have I done now
  2. Well that'd be impressive for a #3 striker. What-the-media-would-like-you-to-believe-Defoe-does-the-way-they-go-on-esque.

  5. They are doing ok tbf Not sure they made the right moves trading Le Toux and dropping Chiumiento. Curious as to how Rennie is trying to form his squad. Mattocks looks a promising talent though. And yeah Stupid, don't understand Montreal's insistence on washed-up Italians from Euro 2004. Gotta be to put butts in the seats. I'm still interested in how Nesta pans out. Could see him pulling a Rafa Marquez.
  6. Kenny Miller signs with Vancouver Whitecaps. Robson and now Miller. Holding out for Hutton.
  7. Nah I'm not that patriotic (only on July 4th, history's greatest day). And the banter doesn't bother me all that much. You just seem to be a major cunt about it all the time. No need tbh. Apologies mate. You got me in a rare patriotic fervor. Calming down now.

  10. It's a Brit term tbf... Obviously the term is not used in the manner you chose to use it. Dave is English, you are not, you cannot tell him whether the term is correct or not. You're wrong! (again) Oh you're just being STUPID. Nah, the English may have invented the language but we perfected it.
  11. Whatever floats your boat. Gotta fight 'em great whites at the same time. Steady on, lets find a Hump Back Whale first. Easy, just wait until they swim up a river. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humphrey_the_whale
  12. He's not been linked to us, but to Liverpool if they can get rid of Carroll. Just been saying we might as well cut out the middle man and go straight for Dempsey instead.
  13. How about if they were available at approximately the same fee and wages (which I don't think is far from reality, and that's before even mentioning we're offering a loan, not a flat out transfer)? If the fee was under £10 million which it probably will be for Dempsey? Hmm. Tough one, Dempsey is more flexible but older. Probably still Dempsey. We could get at least 2-3 solid years out of Dempsey. And he's flexible positionally, something Carroll really isn't. Can play all along the front line if need be (but probably best on the left).

  15. How old is Dempsey? Not young, could be said to be at peak though - 29 Great little player. Can't see Fulham selling him for only 5 million though, and at that age he doesn't really fit our transfer policy. See the thing about Dempsey is he doesn't have the same mileage as similar 29-year olds. He's only got 309 career caps, whereas someone like Moussa Dembele, who's 4 years younger, already has 295. Playing college ball followed by 3 short MLS seasons has kept him incubated. For more comparisons, Jermain Defoe is also 29 (hard to believe, I know) and has 470 career caps. Franck Ribery has 409 and Jonas has 356. And it's not even that Dempsey has been a fringe player up until this year.
  16. Liverpool preparing a £5m bid for Dempsey (who rejected newest offer from Fulham) if they can get rid of Carroll. (Goal) Would rather us pay Fulham the 5 million for Dempsey tbh (obviously).
  17. Cazorla wouldn't look bad on the left either.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

HBA needs to give himself a break from international duty. He's still only had a year back from injury (to the day actually). Play a few years for NUFC, approach the idea of playing for France later down the road. The guy is only 25.

Sorry I offended your sensibilities. Don't get your panties in a bunch. I don't think Adu is a poor player. You think wrong. He's really shit. I think he's stuck in an organization that A) didn't utilize him properly for a long while He has started the majority of games since he signed. He has played many different roles across midfield, including his 'preferred' AMC... he is shit in all of them. B) went off the deep-end to nuttyville before they finally fired Nowak. Novak is shit and did shit stupid things, including tactically and transfer-wise. Cannot argue with that. However, Adu was shit before Novak lost the locker room, and has been shit since. Subbed at HT yesterday also. That squad as a whole is pretty garbage since they lost Le Toux, Califf, Mapp, Paunovic, and Ruiz. The squad is young, not garbage. There is certainly some crap, i.e. the players that Novak chose to get in to replace half-decent players, but they've got enough decent players to deal with many teams in the MLS. Of the players you mention, only Le Toux and Califf are worth mentioning. Mapp was decent, but greatly limited (as shown last night). Paunovic was just shit and old as fuck, and whilst Ruiz could score the odd goal, he is a liability in a team that isn't shitting all over the opposition 100% of the time. He's Michael Owen. Hackworth seems to have turned things around. When Adu has suited-up for the U.S. team over the past year, he's had some great play. I have not seen Adu for the US, but he hasn't been in the last few squads, correct? Mainly I just didn't have a reply to this bit, but my redness thing needed to look tidy. Guess we just don't see eye-to-eye. Amazing thing about this game, it is *pretty* subjective.

But I think your perceptions are probably skewed because of it. Still a serviceable player for Union.

Adu's not a poor player but certainly isn't deserving of DP money.
