  1. Spurs will be lucky to keep the big guns this summer, imo. Wouldn't be surprised to see Modric, VDV, and/or Bale leave.

  3. We can smack the shit out of Scotland alright but don't ask us for a dominant win over the mighty Antigua and Barbuda.
  4. Replace 'England' with 'U.S.' and you'll basically get the same argument from most of us across the pond. We've relied too long on the English/Premiership model of producing superb athletes focused on nothing but winning. The biggest reason Klinsmann was brought over was to completely revamp the way the game is played from the grassroots level on up, focusing on technique and skill the same way he helped transform the German system. I'd say our national team plays much the same as the England squad, just with less skill and a bit more heart
  5. That he would actually.
  6. Murphy is a pure CM while Dembele is more a CAM who can also play the wing. Fulham's "okay" with the Diarra, Etuhu, and Sidwell trifecta manning the DM position, but they're gonna need someone else to replace Murphy. I think Dempsey can become the Murphy character as he ages, but he's got a good 3-4 years of top play in him still. I expect to see a lot of Sidwell in that role going forward. Kačaniklić might be able to play there too but I think he's also best a little further up.
  7. Jols a good manager but unless he invests then Fulham will be in trouble, they need about 3 strikers now, 2 for the first team, a few midfielders and if they sell any of their defenders (Hangeland mainly) then they will also be weak in defence. The problem is though the players they have let go have been either for next to nothing or nothing and I don't think they actually have many funds. I don't think they will make the top 10 next season and could easily be dragged into a relegation battle. Murphy's the one that'll hurt the most, imo. They don't really have any central midfielders who can control the game like him. Pogrebnyak really cooled off after his first few games and Johnson is easily replaceable. If they manage to keep my boy Deuce (right now, my money is on him staying), they have some young talent ready to earn some more games. Bryan Ruiz and Moussa Dembele are already very good and Kerim Frei and Alexander Kačaniklić are going to be just as good if not better. I expect the young Italian striker Trotta to make the first team squad this season too.
  8. Richards is better than them both IMO. I rate Richards higher than Johnson but Walker is their best option, imo. He gets up the field just as well as Richards but isn't as much a defensive liability. People (myself included) rate Richards because he can simply run people over, but he's often misplaced.
  9. Wilshere I can buy into. The rest I am unconvinced. I thought Cleverley looked a smart player before he went down. Rodwell isn't better than Parker or Barry at DM at this point, but more reps at Everton will do him good.
  10. Also, Walker should be replacing Johnson on that right flank from now on.
  11. No one expected much from this team. In that sense, I'd say the tournament was rather successful for England. Winning the group, which virtually no one thought would happen, and shutting out a tough Italian team for 120 minutes only to fall in penalties is no small feat. Central midfield will look better as young guys like Wilshere, Rodwell, and Cleverley come back from injury and gain experience over the next couple years. I expect England will be better able to control the ball through the midfield by Brazil14.
  12. Kinda like this http://www.lee.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/bear-riding-shark-270x300.jpg
  13. I think he's miffed about being replaced as 'the guy,' despite saying otherwise. Was still a vital part of the attack during the second half, doubt Papiss would've been nearly as successful without Ba next to him.
  14. I'll be rooting for my cousins across the pond. Should they fall, I get the thickening just thinking about the soccer porn that would be a Spain/Germany final.
  15. Haven't watched Italy all that close since the first game of the group stage, has De Rossi been moved back into midfield or is he still stuck at center back?
  16. Well I believe France's due for a line-up revamp...again. Mexes and Menez certainly don't deserve call-ups anymore. Koscielny has done more than enough to earn a starting gig next to Rami. I was disappointed not to see Valbuena this tournament, he's a pesky little fucker for Marseille. Something's gotta be done to break-up the love fest between Ribery, Benzema, and Nasri. It's a detriment to the entire squad that they refuse to bring anyone else into the attack. I understand HBA's frustration, they completely ignored him against Sweden. If I'm HBA, I'm flipping Blanc and Co. a big fat middle finger after this tournament. Nasri especially is such a daft little twat.
  17. That's what happens when the clubs charge an arm n' a leg for seats, most Brazilians can't afford the price.

French team they always fight. Apart from World Wars.
  19. Nah, I'm pretty sure Ozil stays. I'd like to see Gotze in that role, but this is hardly the time to experiment at such a crucial position. Reus and Schurrle should perform well in place of Podolski and Muller, neither of whom has been stellar in the tournament. Dropping Gomez is a questionable call, but we all know how well Klose plays for the national side. Good because i just made him captain I foolishly picked Klose on my team as well, blindly expecting him to start over Gomez. Gotten me all of 3 points so far. This is where he earns his keep!
  20. Nah, I'm pretty sure Ozil stays. I'd like to see Gotze in that role, but dropping that many offensive starters might be a bit excessive. Reus and Schurrle should perform well in place of Podolski and Muller, neither of whom has been stellar in the tournament. Dropping Gomez is a questionable call, but we all know how well Klose plays for the national side.
  21. Petr Cech man. The fuck did that come from?
  22. He's put himself on the map for sure. Expect him to land in a top league by summer's end.
