Easier to criticise him for being overly cautious in hindsight knowing that Arsenal weren't at their best. If our forward players had a better game we would have at least gotten a draw IMO.

We deserved a point. Arsenal are a very very well organised side so it was always going to be hard to break them down. Remy and Gouffran could have done more and Shola was pap. Can't grumble too much after that though.

The first yellow was as obvious as you can get because he booted the ball away about 2 seconds after the ref had blown his whistle. The second one might have seemed soft it the challenge was on anyone other than the bloke who he'd just tried start a fight with a couple of minutes earlier The red was a stone waller. I'd be p*ssed with the handball but it wasn't as if it was intentional, handballs like that get ignored all the time because there's nothing a player can do about them. I've heard some of their fans say Iron Mike should have been off because he denied a clear goalscoring opportunity because Peiters was in on goal HBA went out of play but as if it would have made any difference by then.

I'm all for having a patter police. Anyone caught singing 'he scores when he wants' should be banned from all grounds.

There's a a big step between stopping anti-semetic chants and stopping banter. West Ham fans singing 'Hitler's coming for you' and making hissing noises is hardly banter and so they were rightly pulled up on it. Nobody wants to see the end of fan banter but the message needs to be that racism/anti-semetism is in no way acceptable. edit: just seen your response and yeah I see your point. I still think there is a difference between things being just offensive and things being racist though.

It really isn't. They've been drawing rather than getting beat for weeks and every week somebody says it's a terrible result. They've kept themselves comfortably within touching distance with those points and will soon win a game or two and be in mid table. On the plus side, they'd probably be safe by now if Poyet wasn't playing the thick as mince yank up front instead of Fletcher. Can only hope for an injury to the Korean lad as he's comfortably the best midfielder down at the bottom, f*** knows why he's out on loan. Swansea have an option to recall in January apparently. Don't remember that happening in many cases though but yeah he looks decent. They've not been beaten in 4 games.
