I've made my peace with the ethics of this to be honest, maybe that makes me a terrible person given my usual political leanings I'm not going to feel personally responsible for the actions of Saudi Arabia because I cheer some goals going in on a Saturday, and certainly not by some doylems who've decided that the Saudis buying a football club is suddenly the line in the sand for football/society.

I wonder if the PL asked for any assurances around a Super League during these talks too.

If I'm understanding you right those were my initial thoughts too. I'd imagine the piracy stuff didn't help matters and pushed the PL to find ways to try and stall/block the takeover, but now that the positions are entrenched and they are going down the separation route I've got no idea how this plays out Hopefully they can get back round the table.

Luke 'there is no takeover' Edwards. If it doesn't go through I hope people see that it is in no way any kind of vindication for him. He's not some galaxy brain who was steps ahead of everyone else, or who has any special insight into the case/NUFC. He's just a relentlessly negative bellend who might end up being correct overall despite getting the actual detail wrong all the way through.
