A better quality keeper would be desirable still but not Darren effing Randolph.

Would rather just keep our current crop of keepers than sign ones on a similar level/shite ones. Between Krul, Woodman, Elliot and Darlow surely we would be OK.

I always tend to over rate Aarons a bit, I just think hes really got something and would be a talent if he could stay fit. I don't really rate Atsu from what I've seen so far.

They are more talented than Diame and Gouffran, for example, but I just can't see it happening. Krul, Yedlin, Lejeune, Clark, Dummett, Ritchie, Shelvey, Hayden, Aarons, De Jong, Gayle. Potentially our best lineup currently to start the season with, with minimal injuries I reckon this would keep us up.

Question, if we could somehow guarantee him and Aarons would stay fit for 25+ games this season would you be happy with them being frequent starters/first teamers over two new signings? Judging on the underwhelming players we seem to be linked with so far?

Even if he doesn't walk in this window, we'll never make any significant progression as long as Ashley is here anyway, we'll always be the club that lags behind and could get dragged into a relegation battle, even with Rafa I'm struggling to find a reason to be interested in us anymore. If Rafa doesn't walk soon he will walk within a year, the writing is on the wall IMO, even if he does beg the board for bargain basement signings all its going to do is damage his own reputation when we don't kick on. Hes a great manager but not a miracle worker. But hey the shirt sales and season ticket sales are the highest they've been in years, and Ashley knows if he replaces Benitez with Gary Megson the fans will still sit in silence and take it, there's no reason for him to be concerned.
