  1. To be fair a few of us have been on your side of the argument. Don't see what's so harmful about discussing something that will never ever happen (other than being a waste of time), though I am surprised that this thread has reached 17 pages. It's an interesting 'what if' but nothing more.
  2. last time they sold Sahin and upgraded to Gundagon for a fraction of the price. Going to be very hard to do it with 2 forwards though although I've read a few times they're going to get Dzeko for Lewandowski. Yup, looking forward to see how they do it. Götze, who has tons of talent and potential obviously, hasn't even been that great this year. Levandowski will be the tough one as you said. It's an interesting situation. They seem to have a transfer/development policy similar to ours (with a ton more talent and better youth system to work with at the moment) we should look at them as a model to follow. The German league is a lot more wide open than ours, but it shows that you can succeed it you do things the right way. It starts with the owners and manager though.
  3. With them losing Götze it's easy to forget all the other great players they have and that should still be there. If they use the money well they should continue to be a strong European side. Unfortunately it probably locks up the German title but that was going to be tough anyways.
  4. It's crazy that they didn't stop and sit back once they had the one goal lead. Instead they saw that they had the advantage and finished the game off. Well played. Hope Dortmund can win.
  5. Agree but he'd probably have even 'bigger' options than us with all the success hes at Swansea.
  6. Could you ever get fair value for a guy with that rule in place? I mean how would that work? Chelsea spent 50 on Torres, so that means they have to move 40m of player just to get there? Or would transfer values plummet, and players wouldn't move as much? You'd see a lot of guys Shola a team, right? Trades? Maybe that's not perfect but there has gotta be something along those lines. The Financial Fair Play thing seems like it's just being laughed at by all the rich clubs.
  7. Just don't let clubs spend more than 10 Million over what they sell. So if you develop and sell a gem like Andy Carroll ( ) you get rewarded, but teams who just stockpile people and never sell anyone for a high fee can't outspend the league.
  8. I can't believe a Yanks fan would ever write that sentence
  9. Where is the total fairness, though? Where were City or Chelsea before their billionaires? Right. Nothing will be fair while teams are spending that kind of money ever year. Manchester City bought Sinclair from the 9th best team for no reason at all. Money is the problem.
  10. I don't know what this means, but I assume it's an incredible way of calling me an asshole. They're not the best team. Being the best team means being consistently the best over a long period of time, against all types of opponents. Right. They were the best team for a month. Why have the other 6 months then? Anything can happen in a month, someone could get hurt or a player could catch fire for a few weeks (Quick in the Kings case) Because it's more exciting to put the top teams in a high pressure situation and see the reaction to the pressure/injuries than it is to watch the same four teams win the same title and play the same European matches vs the same continental teams year in and year out. I agree with you about seeing the same four teams all the time, but couldn't that be better solved by a spending cap? We are only seeing the same four teams every season because the same four teams outspend everyone. If you look at who won stuff before The Premier League it was much more mixed than it is now. Agree with the bit about teams in the middle having nothing to play for. They should have a playoff-type thing to determine the last champions league spot, or at least the europe league spot. With the league being so top-heavy and everyone else being mediocre something should be done. Obviously I love how our playoffs are run, but it's an interesting argument.

  12. Depressing transfer if it happens.
  13. Look our leagues, do the regular seasons even matter? The importance of every game in the Premier League are about 100X more than they are in our leagues. Just look at the reactions of people on here following a win or loss, you'd think it was the playoffs. I was more in favor of a playoff-type thing to determine the last champions league spot or tie it into the FA cup at least, but that's a different issue entirely.
  14. Might get banned since they're playing Chelsea. Is the London media bias greater than the Liverpool media bias?
  15. How is Carragher still playing? What year is this?
  16. Would have taken a point before the game but that 2nd half was horrible.
  17. Why is Trevor Francis taking our side today, what's going on?
