  1. Think he is a good fit.Likes a young footballing team. s**** in his one and only club management role and got England to beat Sweden, Panama and Malta. I'm all for it, he'll last as long as Moyes if that and it'll be hilarious Did also top a group with Spain and Croatia like
  2. Aye, he’s the focal point of a Chelsea team that’s doing pretty well Miles off the pace in the PL is doing pretty well? Their points total is pretty good and they have a decent gap between them and Arsenal now. Would you have sacked Guardiola after his first season? Nah, but for where Chelsea want to be (challenging) he isn't doing well. Winning one of the cups will somewhat make up for it. It shouldn’t matter whether he wins one of the cups. When you appoint a manager like Sarri you give him time and let him set up the team the way he wants or there was no point in hiring him in the first place

  5. He’s there to always be an option and to keep the ball when he has it. Sarri’s system is about keeping possession and controlling the game and he does it. Not everything in football is just about putting players in the team who can score or assist, there’s more to it than that. Busquets is a better player than Jorginho obviously but its basically like saying all Busquets does is pass it, he doesn’t score or assist, why is he playing? Just like keeping Claudio Bravo in goal was a stubborn move by Pep in his first season. Managers with a clear vision of what they want need to be stubborn
  6. I thought he was quite poor today and I don’t watch enough of Chelsea in general really but if they want to be a possession side you need a deep midfielder who is always looking for the ball and will keep it the majority of the time. Think people judge managers and players too quickly and harshly when they are clearly trying to build something which is more important than just the result in the next game. See Guardiola’s first season at City for example
  7. Well if Kante’s setting up 4 or 5 chances a game its working, no?
  8. If we get relegated there's no hope Rafa goes to Spurs or any particularly good job imo, which makes it even more admirable that he's sticking with us He'll get a job at a team he could turn into top 4/6 contenders easily We'll see
  9. Fair play to him, not even a Newcastle fan according to his Twitter either
  10. If we get relegated there's no hope Rafa goes to Spurs or any particularly good job imo, which makes it even more admirable that he's sticking with us
  11. We were good towards the end of the first half, didn't create much other than that but defended pretty well. Don't think it's that relevant to the Cardiff game though
  12. Rafa knows better than anyone how limited our players are like. I have no doubt that we had worked on short corners as an option during the week but I don't believe that Rafa would've wanted that last corner to go short to Atsu
  13. Do you think? It was weird because there were a few similar situations I mean yeah, Atsu is standing where he's been told to stand and almost all set pieces are rehearsed so it has to be. I don't really understand the logic behind i So are we blaming Benitez here, or Ritchie for not being defiant or using his brain at that late stage of the game? If that's how regimented it is with Rafas strategy, then he's f***ing daft. And on Ritchie, If it's myself in a game, I would defy the manager and take the stick later, or the praise if we got someone on the end of a chance. I mean our goal came from a corner straight to a head, so it's extremely frustrating, and p*ssed most of us of I'm sure. I strongly doubt Rafa wanted him to take that short Not bringing the keeper up (I know it's generally pointless anyway) was really defeatist by us I thought
  14. I read a thing a few years ago where technically putting the ball in the box from a corner is statistically not the best idea so presume Rafa probably tells them to mix it up a bit but last few seconds of the game you have to put it in the box unless you're passing it short to Messi or something
  15. Did well. Showed his passing range near the end, wish he tried to get on it a bit more though given how tidy he is. Promising
  16. Ritchie's fault for passing it. Creating a worse angle for a cross is always a good idea
  17. You’d almost think we hadn’t scored from a corner already
  18. I like him. A bit passive at times, not looking for the ball much but really tidy off either foot and decent defensively
  19. Why do media types still talk about this “takeover” like it has any chance of happening?
  20. he's a 3m keeper. If he had perfect positioning he'd be a 50m one wouldn't he How obtuse. He was the price he was because of the league he was in, not talent. It's absolutely insane to think anyone would have a bad word to say about the bloke. Yes he's never made an error ever. I was simply pointing out that saying "the truth is he has moments of poor positioning" is ridiculous. He's not De Gea, he's going to have those moments. It's like people can't read. Presume the original post was being aimed at those who think he’s better than/as good as Given was. He’s clearly been a great buy for us
