This whole "astonishment at not using a ball" thing has been taken so far out of fucking proportion like I have NUFCTV and saw the video. I was gonna explain it, but I just recorded that little snippet. here: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1SI5zJW8uZw He wasnt "amazed" or "shocked" at all ffs. Suppose that doesnt make a story though

On the new WHL issue, I've done some digging on the Schalke way of doing it, found this video: They're stood in the gap where the pitch slides out, and at 4:17 you see the beams come down and plant to the floor. There's many of them, and they stabilize and strengthen the stand when the crowd are in the stand. Obviously they don't need to be down when the stand is empty, which enables the pitch to slide out/in. I assume Spurs will be using the same type of system, just.. underground
-
Apparently so. I think the tickets up there in the new tier were £255 for the season. Think they generally have some of the cheapest season tickets in the league edit: The cheapest (from last season), in fact
-
Probably not. Tickets sold doesnt = attendance Like how Newcastle claim we had like.. 45k in that one game last season when there blatantly wasnt anything like that
-
The new top tier has already sold out with season tickets, they have plans to do the other end. Not immediately because a crane is out of use for a year or something (I dont remember exactly)
-
Aye.. in a few years we'll be 8th 4th in a month Who are taking 3rd of us? City is it? Aye, their new stand extension will be complete come the start of the season http://i.imgur.com/q1muS28.png They've added 3 rows to the front of each stand too (you can see the work beginning on the bottom of the pic) for another couple of thousand Then in 16/17, West Ham move in to the olympic stadium, and the Anfield expansion will be finished. Chelsea and Spurs a couple seasons after that

In the Veltins Arena Schalke, the opposite side to the side where the pitch exits has 16,000 seats apparently. I can't find figures for the actual stand, but the stadium is generally symmetrical all the way around, so it's probably close to the there. I assume the pitch will go in what is essentially a giant metal/concrete box under the stand/ground
-
They'll need to move as it's being built on the site where the current stadium is. I think they want Wembley, but Chelsea want Wembley for the 17/18 season as well. Chelsea have more money, so they'll probably get it. Spurs will end up in Milton Keynes. Also Spurs are taking Wembley's NFL games off them, they'd probably be told to get fucked
-
The initial deal is 2 games a year but yeah, can see that rising to 4-8 then there being an actual NFL team in London, using White Hart Lane as their home. Otherwise, like you said, it is completely pointless really. With a quick google I find an article from NFL.com last year which states "The way Mark Waller sees it, the NFL isn't just weighing putting a team in London anymore -- the plan is already in motion." so.. yeah I dont think your concerns about the weight of the stadium on the "hole" are a real problem Other stadia with retractable pitches have a same "hole" under their stand too

Georginio Wijnaldum set to talk terms with Newcastle United after PSV agree £13m fee for Holland midfielder
-
The NFL deal is signed, with the confirmation of a 2nd playing surface to play their games on. These plans will have been sieved through meticulously and are probably watertight. There's no real reason why a) it cant be done, or b) it won't be done. They'll be submitted in the next couple of weeks I think. Ground work has already begun next to White Hart Lane http://i.imgur.com/yNiGhfC.jpg
-
This one, it'll go under there. If you see the outside plan of the stadium you can see that end is wider than the opposite end, that's why http://i.imgur.com/p2KR43n.jpg
-
It'll move out under the kop end. The NFL pitch is in place permanently I think, with the football one moving out on top of it. They'll use artificial lights while it's underground http://i.imgur.com/CkuMPGk.png There's a better pic somewhere, hang on

Is he not the PSV captain? He was also in the Eredivisie team of the year last season. ..and we offer €11m?

Two pitches (an NFL one underneath the football to host 2 NFL games per year in a 10 year deal)
