His injuries tend to be niggles which are clearly aggravated by poor squad management. If we look at his goals per minute over the last 2 season he’s an elite forward and one of the best in the world. That’s playing in a team which doesn’t play to his strengths. he’s definitely worth more than 100m and even then I wouldn’t sell as long as he’s happy to stay. now if I’m Arsenal I’m buying him at all costs this summer.
-
Naaa Isak will have a lot of suitors. Players like him are gold dust.
-
Absolutely, although I’m not sure an expansion can get us there, they will have to rejig the ground around to incorporate more corporate stuff. FMV really kills us commercially though, only so much big marketing dollars to go around why would you sponsor us if you can Liverpool for a bit more? They have far more reach than us.
-
That’s just drivel tbh, charges have been brought against city. As for Chelsea charges will be brought next year if they can’t sell enough players ala forest. I know it’s twitter but the conspiracy theories should at least try and be accurate.
-
Please don’t expect the EPL to follow the sanctions laid out by Uefa. We’ve seen with Everton they want financial rule breakers to be dealt with severely.
-
Comparing with Liverpool isn’t the greatest argument for moving tbh.
-
As per the Athletic the club expect to go in to this window without a DOF.
-
Won silverware with Roma if I’m not wrong. Point being he’s a genuine legend and a massive name; of course a small section of the fanbase would be thinking he’d be a good appointment
-
Obviously I want is to keep Eddie and for him to push on but people fancying Mourinho shouldn’t be surprising given he’s won practically everything in the game.
-
Im delighted they don’t, let’s keep him in that case.
-
Err, only Villa have ambitious owners as much as ours. Maybe forest. Everton are almost Bankrupt and Chinese invest in football is over. You need 14 clubs votes change the rules, and I have 4 clubs who may break the status quo. (Forest is a push imo, I doubt the owner has the wealth to truly compete with the big boys). It’s understood city abstained from the vote.
-
City abstained from what I read. They already have the highest revenue (lol) so these rules have no impact on them.
-
As I’ve written about at length, the other shareholders don’t have any incentive to loosen the rules, our one vote doesn’t count for much.
-
They’ve tightened these rules last week. Why would they be suddenly gone? It doesn’t make sense. I understand people want to be optimistic and such but as long as the rules are tied to revenue which we are severely limited in how we can increase it we have little hope.
-
As long as the rules are tied to Revenue and our revenues are limited by related party rules we are scrweed. The framework which is known is already enough to know this.

No reason for these numbers not to be accurate given its public information. In my mind for us, our best case scenario now is becoming an A Madrid who've been successful way beyond what can be imagined so I went to look up the numbers for them: All figures in M;s and euros: Financial year: 2021/22, revenue: 372.24 Financial year: 2020/21, revenue: 345.92 Financial year: 2019/20, revenue: 322.00 Financial year: 2018/19, revenue: 368.00 Financial year: 2017/18, revenue: 304.00 Financial year: 2016/17, revenue: 273.00 Financial year: 2015/16, revenue: 229.00 Financial year: 2014/15, revenue: 187.00 Financial year: 2013/14, revenue: 170.00 Financial year: 2012/13, revenue: 120.00 Financial year: 2011/12, revenue: 108.00 Financial year: 2010/11, revenue: 100.00 Financial year: 2009/10, revenue: 125.00 Financial year: 2008/09, revenue: 105.00 And this to be is worrying and really shows how fucked we are, we are already close to the revenue they have in a much more competitive league, as a good measuring stick, lets take a look at the massivly mismanaged club known as Bara: 2021/22: 638.00 2020/21: 582.00 2019/20: 713.00 2018/19: 841.00 2017/18: 690.00 2016/17: 648.00 2015/16: 620.00 2014/15: 561.00 2013/14: 485.00 2012/13: 483.00 2011/12: 483.00 2010/11: 451.00 2009/10: 398.00 2008/09: 366.00 2007/08: 309.00 2006/07: 290.00 2005/06: 259.00 So basically, the gap never closed despite barca being run by a bunch of clowns and A, Madrid being really succesfuly. Basically we might be able to to challenge but it wont be sustainable.

Haha your welcome, not sure it’s knowledge more common sense mind. I know the predictions are bleak and I wish they weren’t. Thinking about it makes me want to just give up on football tbh, never imagined me either feeling that way, even during Ashley I still loved the game but what’s happening now is even more egregious, we had hope he’d fuck off and we’d be able to compete again, now that hope has been taken away.
-
Sorry, I think it’s real important us as fans understand what’s going on. I’m sure you’d rather get fucked knowingly rather than unknowingly and if we do nought the ones who are getting fucked as us fans, nobody else.
-
Absolutely, and these teams are always looking over the shoulder to see who’s coming behind them, once you understand this you realise why they always vote for these rules. They know they aren’t competing with Manchester United, they are competing with teams who are actually bigger than them but in the championship, so if we rules which stop them from growing whilst we maintain both a financial and competitive advantage it would take a massive fuck up for us to lose our spot on the gravy train. If your Steve parish Palaces valuation going up YOY by remaining in the league is far more enticing then loosening rules and creating more competition for yourself. Capitalism devours all, why would football be an exception?
-
Actually if you take a step back the issue is the regulation of the industry, right now we have a cartel (and this is the league in it’s entirety actually not just the big6) who are creating rules which are anti competitive. so what we need to happen is the government to steps in and break up the cartel and created new rules which encourage competition. Unfortunately, as you well know the governments are as susceptible to the cartels influence as any of the cartel members are so it would likely still remain the same. the cartel won because it won the pr battle, it successful managed to convince people that FFP was about financial fairness and protecting clubs from themselves and this isn’t the case in both instances.
-
Fans shouldn’t accept it either, the constraints are artificial and shouldn’t exist. The only thing the fans should feel is anger towards our current owners if we sit by idly and allowed ourselves to become content with our place.
-
These are business, they don’t want to compete. they are happy with the market share they have and want to protect it, the best way to prevent competition is to limit expenditure. When thinking avoid these rules and regulations think about them from a business perspective not a sporting one.
-
That’s it and we won’t progress, we simply don’t have the drivers of growth those clubs have. We are disadvantaged compared to all of those six other clubs. So we might have a season like last where we sneak into the CL but that will be the absolute ceiling for us, and likely we’d suffer the same fate as this season as our budget would be cut. Don’t get me wrong, the owners have obviously done well until now but they will have very limit ability to change anything now with these rules. We’ve also shown very little signs of being clever and trying to find loopholes we will be utterly stuck. but if our owners are voting for this stuff it should tell everyone all they need to know, we have no intentions of competing with the biggest clubs.
-
Either that or they can work miracles, city can spend double what we can every year, thats a hell of a snowball. Not to sound like Floydian but it’s either we challenge these rules or we accept being an upper mid table club with a Leicester sized chance of winning the league.
-
Welp those ambitions are bullshit then, can’t have it both ways.
