  1. I mean in all competitions. He got 18 last year in a team which was absolute dogsh*t for most of the season.
  2. Hardly surprising considering your poor start. The PF part of that site is barmy at the best of times. I've just watched our game from yesterday and I'm quite encouraged. It was a typical Guardiola type performance from Man City. Plenty of possession but not a lot of threat. I think he's going to find it difficult in the Premier League. I thought the young lads Moyes has brought in did a good job and Kone and Kaboul were immense again. Defoe did what he does and I'm hoping he can get us at least 20 goals this season. All in all not a bad start. A win before October would be nice
  3. Sorry, just taking the pedantry too far
  4. In football the ball hits the front of the net when a goal is scored.
  5. *Mackem is capitalised as it's a proper noun. It's quite clear the sign should say 'MACKEMS ON TOUR' as 'MACKEM IS ON TOUR' is just silly. I suppose looking at your fans attempts at bed sheets in the past I shouldn't be surprised. I'll let your puerile comment on schoolchildren go.
  6. There shouldn't be an apostrophe at all. It's not for possession, plural forms or a letter or number omitted. I'd be careful if I were a Newcastle fan when it comes to poor spelling or grammar mind
  7. If your first game is anything to go by I'd reserve judgement. The business we did in January was outstanding and I'll be more than happy if we can keep them and add two or three more. If that happens I'm pretty confident we'll not be any real trouble this season. Also I remember many Newcastle fans saying how good your business was last year.....£80m spent etc.
  8. Aye, you got decent money for the lads that left. I think you should wait and see how good your signings will be.
  9. They also seem to get a little angry when I don't. I'm here to talk about football and have a little bit of gentle p*ss taking, just like I do with the Mags I work with. I'll leave the hatred to the daft lads and lasses who seem to struggle with the meaning of the word and when it's appropriate to use it.
  10. I was reasonably optimistic this season. We've then went and lost Allardyce, Kone looks like he's away, and we've only made one signing. It's the same every season, FFS we sold Bent to Villa who were below us in the league at the time. If there's a bigger club in the world with less ambition than Sunderland I'd like to see it. It used to depress me when I was younger, now I just accept it as I know there's absolutely f*ck all I can do about it.
  11. Sadly yes. We've not won a major trophy for over 40 years. Any ambition I had of us winning anything worthwhile dissipated a long time ago. I honestly believe that, even after what Leicester did last season.
  12. There are still bargains out there. All we need to do is stay in the league. We don't expect to win it.
  13. The debt was about £140m last time I remember. Chickenfeed with the new TV deal.
  14. We got some pretty decent signings in January, and Defoe last year.
  15. It was in a really sh*t video about Newcastle United, I just thought it was strange that a poster should have picked that structure to highlight his point. Anyway my initial comments were more tongue in cheek than serious but some people went all 'football fan' on them. Back to football. I'm surprised at our lack of signings considering how well Big Sam did in January. £8m for a Chelsea player I've never heard of seems to be our only real piece of business so far. I'd like to hear the chants for Papy Djilobodji especially from opposing fans if he turns out to be poor.
  16. Not really, considering the stick I get on here.
  17. No it wasn't, it was started by someone claiming Baltic as a Newcastle landmark. I merely asked how far out we have to go before the landmarks are no longer Newcastle's. I've got to be honest and say I was only trying to claim the fantastic 5* Seaham Hall Hotel and Spa for Sunderland Anyway, the season has started now so we can argue over proper stuff, like attendances, miscoloured seats and who has the best manager
  18. Aye he was a Sunderland fan until we discovered he was a nonce. Now he's definitely a Mag
  19. We have a Geordie Black Cats branch and if you travel around the areas surrounding Newcastle you'll find plenty of Sunderland fans. Although probably not technically Geordies they will describe themselves as such. I couldn't give you precise numbers but I'd guess there'll be thousands off them who moved due to heavy industry. Similarly you'll find loads of Mags in places like Seaham and Murton.........Adam Johnson for instance.
  20. You do realise there are loads of Geordies who support Sunderland don't you?
  21. I wouldn't be too sure about that
  22. F*ck off man. Benitez will have a fat man's c0ck, no doubt about it.
  23. Really? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_rivers_of_the_United_Kingdom 73 miles according to this. Ours is only 60 miles long mind so you can have this one I'm going to struggle watching the football this season knowing you have a river which is 13 miles longer than the one which runs through my city
