After today, I think he was more likely trying to trick a pigeon down from the roof of the stands.

He really isn't, and if you don't believe be you should read the judge's sentencing remarks regarding Rolf. 6 years does seem a excessive sentence when you compare it to other cases involving very young children but I have no sympathy for him. I'd be happy if all sentencing for all nonces was increased massively. Johnson has came across as an arrogant tw@t in this trial. You should call yourself Strange Mackem. You try to appear even-handed on here but you come across as a smart arse who tries to deflect responsibility from the role your club played in this whole sorry affair and the true extent of what others apart from Byrne really knew when he was welcomed back into the club. Thousands (if not tens of thousands) of your fans sung in defence of Johnson and if Sunderland forums and social media are reflective then it is not a small minority who still support Johnson and blame the child. Your time would be better spent back on RTG - whatever you're called on there - addressing the weird opinions of your fellow Sunderland fans and the manner in which your club has behaved. I don't try and come over as even handed, I give my opinion, hopefully one which has been formed using facts. When I joined this forum I said I would interact on here as I do with my Newcastle supporting mates, I have quite a few, and not like some of the tossers you see at the matches or on internet forums. Obviously some people don't like it which to be honest doesn't surprise me. I've condemned the part played by Margaret Byrne (and therefore the club) and the PFA. I've condemned Johnson, and I've condemned the idiot fans who sang some of the more ludicrous songs in support of him. I've also condemned the idiots on Facebook and RTG, I have accounts on both. Most fans, like me, thought the reason Johnson was brought back from suspension was because he had provided evidence to the club and the PFA which proved his innocence. We were lied to. I feel no shame for that because I had no part in it. My last reply was in response to a poster who seemed to be saying that Johnson is worse than Rolf Harris. He isn't, and such statements come from complete ignorance and add absolutely nothing to the debate. If that makes me look like a 'smart arse' then tough sh*t

Norwich and Fulham (I think) tried to get us points deducted when they got relegated because we fielded a player with incorrect paperwork. Even if we'd had points deducted that season we'd have still finished above the relegation places, so they went kind of quiet after that. I don't blame people for wanting points deducted, desperate times require desperate measures, but I can't see how it can happen.
-
You don't know that. You're surmising. She may have still put in safeguarding procedures even with Johnson still there, but to be honest it's irrelevant. There would still have been no rules broken which could lead to a points deduction. I think it's wrong, and the rules should be changed, but as it stands that's the way it is.
-
If you, Durham, or anyone else can show me the rule Sunderland football club have broken then I'll quite happily take the points deduction. Acting immorally isn't a specific offence as far as I know. Don't get me wrong, I think the club have came out of this terribly, but no rules have been broken in respect of getting points deducted. The Daily Mail is a repugnant, contemptible mess of a 'newspaper', and is in no position to moralise on any subject, to anyone........ever. It would be the most abhorrent rag this country still has in print if it weren't for The Sun. I'd rather read Mein Kampf.
-
Adrian Durham writing in the Daily Mail As much as I despise Johnson, and to a lesser extent Byrne for what they did, Sunderland AFC haven't actually broke any FA rules. If they did I'm sure a top 'reporter' like Durham would have been able to find it. He's almost as bad in print as he is on his radio show.

Not really. I always thought he was an average squad player and I did say that at the time he went to you lot. I always preferred him at left back rather than midfield because his influence on the game was often poor when he was in the middle of the park. I can't ever remember him getting MOTM at our place, and he played over 100 times for us. After watching his display against Borini on Sunday (a player who's been bang average this season) I think he's probably best off on the bench.

He had one good one for us............................... http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/webimage/1.6552142.1397094556!/image/355703286.jpg_gen/derivatives/articleImgDeriv_628px/355703286.jpg

I quite happy with a draw as a defeat would have been unbearable, and I would have taken a draw before the game. I'm sick of us not closing games out, and it's not all Allardyce's fault. He was telling the players to get further up the pitch but they seem to have a mindset which stops them doing it once we go ahead. We need to win a couple of games by two or more goals and they might start believing in themselves. If we don't we're down, simple as that. To be honest I'll not be surprised if we both get relegated because the flaws of both teams were there to be seen yesterday. I was expecting you lot to be all over us in the first 20 minutes, what with a new manager, the crowd was noisy, and I thought the players would be up for it. I was surprised at how poor Newcastle started and we had much the better chances for long parts of the game. It all depends on out games against Norwich now.......oh and Palace are not safe yet
-
It was a penalty, just never a sending off as the fat lad had it covered. Anyway I'm off out now. Radio silence till at least Monday
-
I'm going to have a good day regardless. No work tomorrow and in the club by 12......What could possibly go wrong?
-
Townsend played on the right last time I watched you lot, and he played on the right for Spurs and England. If he starts on the left I'll be happier. Anyway, I'm a little more nervous today than I have been. It's off to the pub at 12 for a good session as I'm off work tomorrow . I'll be back on here Monday or Tuesday win, lose or draw. I'd like to say may the best team win, but I wouldn't mean it. I don't care if we play the worst football the Premier League has ever seen and get a scabbie, fluke of a goal for a 1-0 Hopefully it all goes off without the usual numpties having their 15 minutes of infamy, especially after what we seen at Old Trafford midweek.
-
Our points tally since Sam brought in his own players is decent. My biggest worry tomorrow would be Van Aanholt against Townsend. He really is a thick as pigsh*t defender He'll worry your defence going forward, but not as much as he worries our defence when he's at the back My biggest hope is Defoe, Borini, Khazri and M'Villa being up against your defence.
-
You had a lot of possession but Pantilimon barely had a save to make all game. The sending off was key, but it was a penalty. I don't mind if we concede possession, Leicester have been doing it all season and it's done them no harm. There are very few games where we have more of the ball than the opposition yet we're getting points on the board. The team we have now is very different to the one which lined up in October. We've picked up a lot of points over the last ten games, with some very encouraging performances. If we can keep you out for the first 15/20 minutes I think we'll get something out of the game (a draw will do us). If you score early you'll win by two or three. I'm strangely not nervous. That may change tomorrow
-
The omens are not good for Sunderland this time. This run has to come to and end sometime and I think this weekend might be it. You've pulled our trick of appointing a new manager just before the derby, and no matter how poor your team has been, they seem to take it up a gear for a new boss. We should know we've seen in plenty of times. I'll take a terrible 0-0 now.
-
I've been saying that to my Newcastle mates for ages. If you had Defoe in your team you'd be nowhere near the bottom 3 even with McClaren in charge.
-
It'll be nice to talk about football again After watching your game on Monday I'm no more or less nervous than I would normally be before a derby. It was by no means the best I've seen you play this season, and you got beat by Leicester team who never got out of first gear. I have a feeling if we can stop you scoring in the first 20 minutes we might just get something out of the game. I'm sure your players will be fired up, the crowd will be noisier than it has been for a long time, and our players need to try and keep calm. I just hope Allardyce doesn't think we can defend for the whole match and get a draw, because I'm convinced we have players who can expose Newcastle's defensive weaknesses, especially Defoe. Prediction. If you score in the first 20 minutes you'll win by two or three. If we keep you quiet at first it'll be 0-0 or we'll sneak it late again (I hope). I know one thing, this result will not determine who stays up or goes down, whichever way it goes.
-
I think the affect on the crowd may be the biggest factor. If McClaren was still there the atmosphere could have been toxic, especially if Leicester had given you a tonking. The thing is many of our players are used to playing and winning at SJP so I'm hoping they won't be overly affected. I also think we have the attacking options to get at your shaky defence (as you do with us). It could be the best derby for a long time, but I'll take a sh*tty 0-0 now
-
Based on what? Even though we've won the last 6 I've never been confident before any of them. In fact I'd have taken a draw in everyone of them before the game, as I would next Sunday. Mind, I might change my mind depending on how you play against Leicester
-
I don't blame you. If we got Benitez I'd be f*cking ecstatic. It sends out a statement if nothing else, something which Ashley has failed to do since he p*ssed off Keegan. Obviously I'm still hoping that it will turn to sh*te for the fat horrible staff abusing shop owner
-
There is some logic to that. Under the current rules of engagement I would tend to agree with them.......but should he keep us up and go into the summer with Ashleys backing in the tranfer market then such sentiments would be laughable. I agree. If you stay up you have a cracking Premier League manager. If we stay up we have someone who'll get us mid table (not that I'd mind that).
-
I hope so. I do enjoy the bed sheets at your place. I've got to be honest and say I'm not looking forward to the next few weeks because I think Benitez is your best appointment since Robson by a long way. I'm just hoping that even he can't do anything with that shambles of a defence of yours. We'll see......it should be fun, in a horrible way. Keep hearing off you mackems about the 'shambles of your defence' - I agree but still conceded one less than your one remember that. True, but we've picked up 13 points from our last ten games since Allardyce brought in is own players. I'm pretty confident we'll continue to pick up points, but now I think you lot might too, which wasn't the case after I watched your games last week. Like I say, at least it'll be interesting now
