I was commenting on the talk of "good football" and my point was, signing technically gifted players doesn't automatically mean that the football will be better and more exciting. Sure, I agree we probably have too many "runners" and would like to mix it up with some technicians, but the style and mentality is something else.

The intense, pressing, attacking game we've seen in Eddie's initial seasons here is "good football" for me. And there's nothing that says you can't play that way with technically gifted players. Also, it's very much possible to play boring, turgid football with technically gifted players. Look at Mourinho's teams through the years for example.

If we're aiming for a change of course, a total reset, Howe has to go, otherwise we risk just that; to have to install a new manager halfway through the season who hasn't been a part of building the squad. But who knows, maybe Hopkinson et al think that we should carry on, that this season was just a blip, and that Howe will steady the ship with the help of some shrewd business in the summer. What do I think? I think Howe "deserves" time, but maybe that is not really relevant in top-level football and maybe we do need a change of direction.
