I absolutely love Tripps but would be quite logical to let him go now while we still can get something for him. He's over the hill, didn't impress this season. Will be emotional though, best RB we've had at the club by miles and miles.

I don’t know if I’m getting old, but I’m absolutely fine with playing good, at times great, attacking football, being at the top or thereabouts. Winning something would be fantastic of course but I guess I’ve somewhat given up on it. I just enjoy being able to like the team and want them to win every game. Howe is the second coming of Keegan and we would be stupid to sack him prematurely.

Of course I’d take it, I just don’t think it’s a major trophy and would much rather win the league cup, for example.

True, just said I’d rather win the League cup. It’s a classic cup, a lot of history. The same with Europa League/UEFA cup. The conference league is a Mickey Mouse cup.

I have no problems with Gordon winning it. Just think having one of our players scoring more in a season than any Newcastle player since Shearer is something special.
