I've always maintained that Rooney has to play as a striker or not at all. He's so fucking shit deeper, always looking for that diagonal, loses the ball too often and asks for it in pointless/unproductive areas. Yes, his goal record for England is commendable, but he's not the same player as he was when he scored the large majority of those goals

    England

I know we shouldn't expect a lot considering it's the last game before the tournament, but fuck me this is so fucking boring. Players out of position, no real game plan...only Roy can make an all-action player like Vardy completely anonymous

Wow. That was more UFC than anything else Imagine if it was one of them forrins on the end of that though, imagine the histrionics, vote out

Kane makes some awful decisions sometimes. Wish he'd stick to finishing, where he's absolutely deadly

Doesn't look like we're playing the diamond at all to be fair...

They really do. It's not quite as completely mental as the Brazilian one, but it's epic

    Mmm. That gorgeous diamond.

I completely get what you're saying, Ian.
  9. This is too gold, Froggy's such a melt
  10. Interesting insight though. Scandinavians seem quite placid in comparison to other footballing nations, wondered if they dispute who's more Viking than the other or something
  11. Born in Kenya, raised in England. Feel more Somali than anything else though.
  12. FOR KING FELIPE! Now time for some mid-afternoon sleep. I have a BA degree in English & Irish Relations in the Footballing and General Sporting Realm (with Hons) from the University of Southern Belfast, actually. The perfectly placid Combat 18 group from England were viciously attacked by Irish hooligans. You needed an Englishman in Jack Charlton to run your England B team that day anyway. Whereabouts in England are Fabio Capello and Sven Goran Eriksson from? Durham and Yorkshire I think. They had a good pool of English players to pick from. Rather like the Irish managers over the years

  14. http://www.navalica.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/putin.gif  Amazing. Well Iceland have got less than a tenth of that and they've done alright considering their most popular sport is moose hunting/being cold Aye they've done brilliantly. Outstanding achievement. Doesn't change the fact you think a country with 4 million people not qualifying is "hilarious" Yeah, you're right, it doesn't change that fact at all  England haven't beaten Ireland in 31 years either Would help if your lot stopped trying to kill everyone when the matches were on, then there might be a few more regular games. Regardless, England have the superior head-to-head record

  16. Good players wouldn't want to play for Ireland over England
  17. Keep Ireland Irish Damn foreigners, coming to our country and helping us occasionally qualify for international tournaments because we can't on our own You do realise these players have family connections to Ireland, yes? English people only take the p*ss out of Ireland about this because we became at least as good as you in the late 80's and 90's when we first started taking advantage of the rule Dunno what you're on about, I'm Kenyan. You slagged off the Republic for having English born players and then say you hope N.I. do well. Hypocrisy at it's finest. Also, England are s***. They're the biggest underachievers in International football. Complete bottlers. Managers have no balls. World Cup 2014 they finished dead last in the group. World Cup 2010 they scraped out of the weakest group in the entire competition and then got absolutely thumped by Germany. Euro 2012 beat in quarters, Euro 2008 they didn't even qualify. Absolutely horrendous for a nation such as England. Maybe this time it'll be different though. Football's coming home and all that jazz. Aside from the emotional hysteria you're splurting I actually agree with you to an extent. They're not 'fucking shit', but they certainly are perennial underachievers when it comes to international tournaments. Since Euro 96, they've not done much of note. Which makes it even more hilarious that you lot need to borrow a bunch of Englishmen to help you even get to said tournaments in the first place.

 Seaman's goalie kit is pure eye-bleedingly terrible, almost as bad as that horrible grey kit

  20. Literally. How can England be 'desperate' in comparison to ROI when most of the squad are a) decent players b) born in the country? Robbie Keane tho Hope Northern Ireland do well though, I wonder how long they can keep their unbeaten run going. Considering they're such a small country, and have players nicked from them by their cousins, O'Neill's done a superb job. I think they've got a good chance of getting through to the knockout stages. Seems a good egg Michael O'Neill. His 'big interview' podcast with Graham Hunter is worth a listen if you're that way inclined. Mag too. Will give that listen definitely I remember thinking 'who the fuck is this guy?' when NI appointed him. What he's done with that squad is absolutely miraculous. Really likeable bloke as well. I don't remember talking about where NI's players were born? Must have missed that one. Still though, considering the size of the country, they've only got a few whilst your lot have got a third of your squad born overseas. England aren't 'fucking shit', that's just you being emotional. They're certainly not great but they're decent enough. Plus they actually do this thing called 'regularly qualify for international tournaments.' I personally don't see them going further than the quarters but I hope I'm wrong, I think there's a couple of individuals that could win them games. I'd be interested to know what nation are the most 'homogenous' as such? I would hazard a guess that it would be a country like Iceland?
  21. I've always wondered - is there a big rivalry between the Scandinavian nations? Like, do you see the Swedish as Mackem-esque, for example?

  23. Glad Drinkwater's not going to be honest, I don't think his style suits international football. Looked a bit out of sorts against the Aussies. I agree with Henderson deserving his place.
