  1. Wenger said the other day that he's had a crazy amount of offers and that he will certainly manage again. But he also said the chances of it being in the PL are pretty much zero as he would find it impossible to face Arsenal after 22 years, so managing abroad is the likely scenario. I think he will go to one of the big Seria A teams. Although considering he's only leaving Arsenal he regularly says "i'm retiring", which to me seems permanent
  2. Transfer supremo Guillem Balague
  3. That isn't how it works though. Do you think PSG bid 200m for Neymer without already knowing if he was keen? West Ham will have sounded Rafa out. Call it tapping up or whatever you like. That's how it works. Oh aye. But the Neymar buyout was openly discussed for weeks, let alone 7 days prior. I mean officially one club surely has to mention it if it's so close to completion and involved Rafa. Unless they wait til next week and get Rafa to hold a West Ham scarf with the receipt printed on it Aye but again, in theory, West Ham could meet his release clause and have him signed in 7 days. Yeah so if it's been met surely one of the clubs has to make a statement?

  5. Surely if it was Rafa we'd have heard about the 6mil buy-out being satisfied? How could they have progressed with Rafa to the point they are confident it'll be done within 7 days?

  7. LVG? Good shout, i'm also thinking random managers like Villas Boas, Hiddink, Marco Silva etc. Where's Mancini at?
  8. So what managers are realistically available who are similar to Rafa, e.g ex PL and European experience? Fonseca, no. Pellegrini, Yes? Who else?
  9. Don’t hold your breath ... Welcome our new signings Colbeckovic and Mitrodinho. Job done.

No, it's purely for the comedy factor, he's not a bad manager imo but he's not world class. Not world class when he's got 13 trophies

Having now read about half that thread, I ask myself why are they bothered/happy he will leave us if he's worse than Simon Grayson?

Took them 17 posts before the first "West Ham are a bigger club". Daft cunts

without looking surely that would be the case for most major nations with a strong national league (germany, spain, italy etc.)? I doubt there is another nation that will pick 18 of it's players exclusively from the top 6 of it's own domestic league and have aspirations of going far in the competition. We are shit from top to bottom and hope the big teams can prop us up as we have nothing to offer from decent foreign teams and don't trust players outside the top 10. Embarrassing really. 17 of the Spain squad that won the 2010 WC were from their top six. They've not announced their latest squad but the last one had 15 in. Don't really understand the correlation. To back that up further Bayern Munich have 7 players in the German squad, if we take 6/18 we get 3, so the point doesn't really hold. The most successful clubs will naturally provide the bulk of a nations player base. There is nothing wrong with that. The problem we've had with England squad's is that for too long it's been a case of if you can get a game (now and again) for Manure or Chelsea or whoever, you get a call up, rather than looking at the player with a critical eye and comparing him to other players playing at clubs outside the limelight. Arnold, Rose, Stones and Loftus- Cheek are prime examples of that in the current squad. Exactly, the players we take from our top 6 are either shit, never play, or in the case of Delph etc won't be in the same position. We aren't taking strength from these teams. We take them under the assumption they are in the top 6 so must be top 6 quality. Surely that's the entire point of being annoyed Cahill is ahead of Jamaal and Tarkowski? I might be wrong but I don't see Spain, Germany and Italy picking such dross options just because they hang around the BvB, Napoli, Atleti dressing rooms. Maybe I should have said other nations won't take 17-18 players from top 6 teams of such horrific quality?

Not really, La Liga players will be dominated by Barca, Madrid and Atletico and considering unlike them we don't have many overseas players performing it's not at all surprising. It's a very short sighted view point just said as an excuse to be angry at the big teams. It's not like the league is full of amazing players outside the top 6 and even if those players were picked we still wouldn't be going very far. I guarantee the Spain squad has more than 5 players from outside the top 6 teams. Yeah because they have players like Silva etc etc in other leagues which we don't, players picked from La Liga will be dominated by the teams i mentioned. I just made that point ffs I said we have no talent at decent foreign teams, so we resort to selecting top 6 squad players as we don't trust in form bottom half players

without looking surely that would be the case for most major nations with a strong national league (germany, spain, italy etc.)? Yep, it's a silly argument really. It's not that silly as players like Rose and Welbeck have barely featured for their big clubs and afaik Delph has only played at LB for Man City this season. Welbeck has played 40 games this season and was pretty much starting every game until Aubameyang came. Welbeck has featured in 43 games and amassed 25 full games worth of minutes.
