Total guess work on my part, but I wonder if Rafa naming the 20th of Jan is maybe a deadline set by PCP. Ashley then plays it cool and extends his holiday. Im wondering about the £20 million bonus to win the FA cup.. if Ashley sells who becomes liable to pay it? Im sure its a written contract of some sort between Ashley and the players. Obviously the possibility of us winning it is extremely low, but it seemed almost an act of defiance Rafa playing a full strength team.

Love the bloke but he isnt beyond criticism. Most of us wanted to see 4-4-2 with Mitro and Gayle which I think is a much better option that Joselu/Gayle. Its obvious he wants rid of Mitro and thats why he has refused to play him.. a decision which I think has possibly cost us points. A backed Benitez with definitely get results, but we will never get the type of football most people want to see as he likes to control every aspect of his teams.

This story was doing the rounds on Twitter this morning from the alleged Asian Newspaper. From the Chronicle this afternoon.. The problem with Mitro and Aarons is their best game is their natural one.. Serbia play to Mitro's strengths and we saw the best of Aarons when he was free to improvise. Rafa likes to control his players and so players who can follow a game plan and stick to it are more likely to play. If we get taken over we will be more like Liverpool of old.. than an attacking machine that everyone expects. Liverpool fans complained at some of the football they saw back then but to Benitez its about results.
