I think it's the part where other European teams can still buy our players. Say your Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern etc, and you fancy a player like Dele Ali. You wait until our window shuts and then you buy Ali, leaving Tottenham unable to strengthen after losing one of their best players. For me that's a massive flaw, easily sorted by bringing in rules so we can't sell either when our window shuts. THEY COULD JUST NOT SELL HIM Unfortunately player power is the game now, OK.

Not sure if it's the window closing early that's the problem. It's the fact teams from other countries can still buy our players until their window shuts.

Mbaby because Rafa didn't fancy Mbabu as a player ?

Aye but you can't just turn it off like a tap can you, it's a love affair, unfortunately ours is with the football club version of herion. Ive never Taken heroin, but Im going to guess you have more good times than you do supporting newcastle No i never have, but my girlfriend who i was with for a long time when i was young, her brother did and the addiction was horrid. You just watch a family get torn apart, spiltting down the middle where there are no winners. While over dramatic and in no way a proper comparison, our love for our club and the fact we can never walk away is a little similar. I mean why go through this clowns ownership and still keep doing it, we just can't walk away can we. The herion comparison is just a tongue in cheek thing, not meant to offend anyone.

Some people loathe tactical football and dislike rafas approach to the game. This will manifest itself greatly when we go on a bad run and the what if merchants come out. I'm one of those a fair bit, yet today i was quite encouraged. Funny old game like. Given our budget and individual quality i think we would struggle badly if we went all out attack. I wouldn't have anyone else managing us personally. I wouldn't want anyone else either, i did dislike the way we set up against lesser team especially at home (last season bascially) but with better players, we will play better and that wouldn't really enter into it anymore. I mean any team with Colback in it isn't going to play like Holland in 1974 is it But today especailly after Merino came on, even with 10 men, there was more movement and less long ball that we saw first half, admittedly Spurs could play in 1st gear but for some reason i wasn't massively disappointed. We need more creativity that's obvious, and that's where the problem lies, we won't spend enough imo to address the glaring problems in the squad.

Aye but he hasn't played like that for Chelsea in like 18 months(not his fault mind), what Conte should be angry about more than selling Matic is not replacing him with someone who can create from deep. Kante does all the ball winning anyway, Chelsea's real issue and why their seasons go from champion to s*** all the time is because Hazard is literally the only creative player in the squad. Well Fabregas, but i don't really need to explain why that isn't good enough. Based on how their team is built, i really don't have a problem with them selling Matic. What i do have a problem is not using that money to get Hazard some help and give more balance to the team. Think you might be downplaying just how important Matic was last season to Chelsea, i agree he didn't seem to play in the way he did today but Matic is a 7/8 out of 10 every week. And with his quality the team he's in will always be close to winning something.

You can see why Conte is not happy about Matic being let go. Best player in the Man United team today.

Aye i noted a few people say, this might speed up some buys. Yeah that's not happening (i say hoping to be very very wrong)

Wake up man. You wake up. Look at Ali's reaction BEFORE Shelvey gets there. He's down holding his head and throwing it back as though he's been stamped on, only then does Shelvey put his foot there which is when Ali repeated his antics. Shelvey was getting sent off before he put his foot there because referee's protect big name players. Ali should also have a ban for play acting. There's no defence for Shelvey none. He intentionally stepped on his ankle. That is a straight red card. Idiot. I'm not defending him, I'm saying he was off because of Ali's reaction before he leaves his foot there. What ? because Ali knocked the ball a couple of yards away as Shelvey wanted to get the ball. It's pathetic for Shelvey to react that way for that.

Well if we do well in the next 3 games because if as i expect Merino steps in. He'll find it hard to get back in, and rightly so.
