  1. The amount of times he said professional, says everything about what type of man he is, and what he expects from Newcastle, the players and staff. And professional is just what we need. Edit : Steve Howey can fuck off.
  2. Sounds like it's down to Charnley - he'll mess it up It really is, if Rafa is given the level of control he wants he's staying. Only the club can fuck this up now.
  3. Going down might not be a bad thing in the long run imo, players who have let us down will want to move. We can them out because we've gone down, the players will push for it as well as their agents, and teams will be interested despite how shit they've been. We can get players with more about them in, build on it and buy players when we do come up, who are better than the shower of shit we have. Players who aren't just here as a stepping stone. All of that above matters if Rafa stays of course, because he'll have total control and i trust him to buy and sell the right players and get us back up. If Rafa doesn't, forget the bollocks i just wrote.
  4. He's a far far better striker than mitrovic and 34 means nothing, Defoe is 33 has just singlehandedly kept the mackems up and talk of an England recall We need to get away from this ageist bullshit While i'm not a fan of Lambert, what you said is one of the many reason were where we are now, not signing older experienced players when we need one, or one that suits our team. There's old and then there's old. NUFC wouldn't sign players over 28. That doesn't mean we should get players who are 34 and over now. Most players (apart from goalkeepers) are at the end of their career by 34. I'm all for signing players who are over 28. Anyone signed over 30 must get a suitable length contract though. Aye, agree with that.
  5. We are a much bigger club than Swansea, Southampton or Stoke it could be argued, but they are now established PL sides who for the most part haven't been flirting with relegation year on year and who seem to have a strategy for some improvement on and off the pitch. We are owned by an idiot, ran by idiots and have no strategy or plan in place (any that makes sense anyway) for improving. Watford could easily fall into the 'Stoke' category of sides if they get their next appointment correct. Playing the we are bigger than you card needs some revision in my opinion. Far 'bigger' clubs than the Watfords of this world have been languishing in the second tier of football for years now. To dismiss the Watford link smacks of arrogance to me. Thanks to Ashley we really are a toxic choice. I wouldn't dismiss them becuase of that, i would rule them out because they change their managers so often that it wouldn't suit Rafa at all. Especially if he's looking to build something somewhere, Watford is 100% not the place for him to do that. You'd argue that we're not in the habit of being builders either. Not that I think he's off to Watford. Very true, although i'm running with the assumption that we've seen the light and will hand Rafa what he wants. (hope, it'll kill me won't it) We also don't sack managers unless they are absolute fucking dross. He'd be set until he retires if he wants here. Also true but there's now way he'd work under the process that Pardew/McClaren did. He wants full control, especially over transfers (which is the main sticking point in all of it for me).

  7. Jordan Rhodes, hasn't done it at the smoggies. If he doesn't get a game there he could be a option on loan early into the season.
  8. I suppose they will say it's worked so far, but i agree with you, i think it will bite them on the arse eventually.

  11. I'd buy/loan Nathan Ake for LB if he'd play in the Championship, might not be top draw but solid enough for that league and could develop into a Premiership LB. He had a decent enough season in Premiership this season with Watford. Loftus Cheek in CM on loan, he would play every game which he doesn't now. Probably wouldn't drop a league and but it's worth asking (Conte might fancy him though, so i know it's unlikely). Just throwning a couple of names in.
  12. I know that picture isn't the most flattering. But f*** me, you must have low standards You should see my wife Charming. The french bimpy Bimpé
  13. Got them relegated ? We were relegated when he arrived. The fact we even got out of the relegation zone for a week was a miracle. Sorry

  15. Oh god, we get Mike Dean and it'll go ape on here.
  16. They do still ref now and again in the Championship you'll be afraid to hear.

    Alan Shearer

'The one thing you have to do in the Championship is to fight and scrap' I'm sorry but that bit is just plain wrong, it's lazy often said nonsense, the Championship isn't like that anymore. Virtually none of the teams up the top 'fight and scrap'. They're organised and most play decent football on the floor. Look at the three that came up last season, Bournemouth (outplayed us twice), Watford (the same) and Norwich (certainly no scrapers). Play good attacking football and be good defensively, two things Rafa will get us doing and we'll get out of that league impressively imo.
  18. I remember when Sir Bobby passed away there was an interview with Llambias on SSN where he said that when he went to a match he'd go to him and offer advice, criticism, etc. and offer some home truths at the same time. I could imagine Benitez as someone that would try similar with this current lot. Whether they listen to him is another thing. I think there's more chance of Charnley listening to Rafa, than Llambias would from Sir Bobby or anyone else. Llambias took arrogance and ignorance to whole new level. We've just got to hope Ashley has given Charnley the green light to give Rafa what he wants, all Charnley then has to do is sit back enjoy the ride.
  19. He's got teeth that look like a worn out rockery.
  20. Why? Why post guff like this? Quite, the spelling is awful.
