  1. Allan is a very good player from what I've seen, him alongside Doucoure would be a huge improvement for Everton in midfield
  2. Don't rate Wilson as highly as others seem to, but he's unquestionably better than what we have
  3. They are not in a great position themselves. But Real Madrid will have a clear run for the title in the next 2-3 years, indeed. Should try to rebuild around a starting trio of Coutinho, Griezemann and Dembele and hope they can fulfill their potential. Let's be honest, those three are very very very talented footballers and maybe they just need the freedom and confidence to bring back their football. I like Dembele, but it's a high-risk strategy envisioning building a team around him, considering his shocking injury record in recent years
  4. It's a bit mad how when you read through social media just how many fans seem positive on the idea of selling Schar and Lejeune to make way for Holding or whoever. In my mind, they're the two most talented defenders at the club
  5. Could sides like Sevilla and Villarreal kick on next season and potentially challenge? The latter's business in bringing in Parejo and Coquelin is quite impressive to an onlooker
  6. Probably because the club will sell one / both of Schär and Lejeune, so Ashley can pocket all the cash by just loaning in a replacement
  7. It's a massive indictment of Bruce that he seemingly has no idea what to with our two most talented defenders - Lejeune and Schar
  8. Bentaleb with nearly 100 appearances for Schalke and 35 int'l appearances didn't. We've seen both play in a Newcastle shirt though, with Abeid arguably being far superior? No idea what point you're trying to make
  9. Find it strange that people are arguing against Abeid being a solid squad player In the time he was let go , we regularly had Colback in midfield Not to mention even just last season, we had garbage like Bentaleb, Schar (as a midfielder) in there, couple that with the distinctly underwhelming performances of Longstaff, and there's seriously not a case of Abeid being a good option?
  10. I was reading an article analyzing Barcelona's predicament and this excerpt really stood out to me Huge indictment on the current state of La Masia
  11. Shola been busy sorting loan moves out this summer
  12. Yes, certainly. Just as annoying is the lack of effort in identifying the talent that can be had for reasonable fees. It's not an impossible approach, but it's clear we don't really do it properly. We should have done everything we could to have got Brentford's Director of Recruitment Phil Giles on board, he's a massive Newcastle fan and his work at Brentford has been incredible thus far
  13. The ironic thing about Ashley's penny-pinching approach to recruitment is that it actually costs the club significantly more over the long-term by refusing to meet the valuations of quality players like Aubmeyang, Lacazette, Tagliafico etc. Then we end up paying over the odds for players like Muto, Joelinton etc.
  14. 3 months injured, then another 3 months getting up to speed
  15. £100,000 a week, bloody hell no wonder they want rid
  16. I find it absolutely baffling it’s just been dropped without answers. No journalists has really done a post-mortem on what happened. We’ve basically been told to keep going by Staveley, Rick rolled by her husband and the media and NUST have all apparently let it go since the Premier League meeting and the fan base has been told a grand total of fuck all. We’re now into Bruce down playing our chances this season, absolutely awful transfer targets and all of the media types that looked down on us wanting the Saudi deal now seemingly going missing while Ashley continues to run us as close to the line as he can get away with. I knew this would happen, the regional media are a complete joke No disputing these are different situations, but we never got a proper deconstruction of the Bin Zayed Group's bid either, it just vanished Then there's Mauriss, every rational fan immediately inferred he was a total chancer / non-existent, yet the media reported everywhere he submitted a £350m bid, where's it gone? Who briefed them it was submitted? Did the club confirm it? It took Reuters to investigate and expose Bellagraph Nova Finally as you say, Staveley and the other figures have just disappeared despite their public appeal to the fanbase.
  17. Fucking hell Celtic Edouard surely away now
  18. I actually think they'll keep him this season, perhaps Origi will go instead I read just before Sheff United are in poll position to take him on loan. It just seems mental we aren’t at least attempting to sign him. He’s got to look at our strikers and think he could be starting every game if we tried. Completely agree My theory is that the club are going to gamble (like usual) until the very end of the window and attempt to sign a striker on loan that the team are, at that point, desperate to get rid of, and will subsequently accept a lower percentage of wages paid
  19. I actually think they'll keep him this season, perhaps Origi will go instead
  20. No journalist covering this, has come out of this saga with their reputation undiminished, including Caulkin Personally, I think he should at least attempt to get Staveley on the record again, considering her earlier plea to the fans to mobilize against the Premier League, which was summarily heeded. However, in response the league has since provided a more complete record of events, including alleged deficiencies in the consortium's structure and transparency. It's clear that Caulkin is better suited than any to get Staveley to provide some finality.
