Agreed, first thing that came to my mind as well. -

As much as I don't want Pope to be our starting GK, he's a 20 year old that has only had experience in Ligue 2. Premier League football is an enormous step-up. -

Lot of money for (presumably) a second-choice keeper. I don't think as a club we can continue with Pope as a #1 again for the coming season. -
Zadok Yohanna: NUFC & Chelsea have £21m bids accepted by AIK (Mail)

This sounds harsh, but I think we need to look for steelier characters in our recruitment as well. Elanga should have been much better than he was / is, but I don't know if the lad can mentally cope playing for Newcastle. It was painful watching him in home matches last season, the complete lack of confidence and drive to be involved. -

Not sure if this is a goer if Brighton already have an agreement in place. -

Would be happy with Nwaneri, looks a great talent.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

Don't have any bad feeling towards him, but it really sums up his time here that he couldn't consistently supplant Pope as starting GK, despite Pope seemingly making a horrific error every single week. The bar was set pretty low and he still couldn't exceed it. -
Surely David's wages will be too excessive for our structure, given he went on a free to Juve?
-
Selling Hall would be a nightmare scenario. I feel like there's so much work to do on the squad already, never mind losing one of our most talented players. Circa £50m would be an absolutely awful deal as well, would have to be closer to £70m at a minimum.

Howe not even in the frame for the Liverpool job? Hmm.

Was actually pretty good

Ndoye got to be in the running for top 10 worst signings of the season like.

Aren't you absolutely knackered from a PSR perspective on taking a (notable) loss on players you've recently signed? Find it highly unlikely Forest would give us anything like we paid, even if they're soon-to-be flush with cash after Anderson sale.

I think Gordon will be excellent under Flick, not too sure how it’ll go for him when Flick inevitably leaves however.
-
Gordon deal getting done this quick suggests him and Hopkinson have a good line of contact to PIF to get things finalised.

I can see us hawking Tino around a bit this summer. He’s got 2 years left and doubt he’s going to extend.
-
Hopefully puts us in a stronger position if offers come in for the likes of Tonali, Livramento etc as well.

£70m plus add-ons to a team abroad seems pretty good to me.

Would be very happy with Rashford but it'll never happen because of his wages.

£60m would be shite like.
