  1. Of course nothing will end up happening, but it is just crazy how these owners could still be viewed as 'fit and proper' of the respective clubs according to the Premier League regulations.
  2. Surprised Liverpool didn't put out a statement by Joel Glazer.
  3. The weak grovelling about saving the football pyramid can be nicely bookended with Perez's interview yesterday in which he admitted the Super League was set up because they don't care about watching any games bar a select few.
  4. It will be a hollow victory if no punishments are issued.
  5. Perez interview has aged well. No wonder at the start of it, he said he wasn’t ever going to do another.
  6. Can’t believe they thought they’d get away with it, it’s such a staggering miscalculation on every level.
  7. The owners and directors should be failed as fit and proper by the Premier League.
  8. It should be a Louis Theroux Weird Weekends esque documentary. First episode about Florentino Perez.
  9. Turns out the ‘Super League’ really did deliver drama and excitement never before seen in football.
  10. They can’t all just back out of this now and we’re all expected to be fine with it. They need some form of punishment.
  11. You’re basically proposing the usurpation of what those clubs are to their own local communities to satisfy a identikit globalist framework.
  12. A European competition should prioritise European audiences first and foremost. Why in the fuck should a European fan be expected stay up until 3am to watch the team they’ve supported all their life to suit the Bangkok fan base or whatever.
  13. Ashley banks the TV money each season, which will be massively reduced if these clubs do end up being expelled from the league and / or the Super League takes greater precedence. So it’s in his interest.
  14. Fucking hell how many times is Perez going to say "young people have lost interest in football". Perhaps if he says it enough, he might convince himself. Also the Super League will coincidentally be totally immune from such dramatic evaporation of interest of course.
  15. "Young people have less interest in football" Wonder if it's because they and their families can't afford it now thanks to figures like Perez over the years.
  16. I was reading a few months back that in initial plans for Project Big Picture they wanted to reduce the length of the games among other initiatives, linked into the perception that a traditional football match doesn't capture the attention anymore.
  17. No doubt Real Madrid's debts are massive, but this isn't some valiant effort to solve a contemporary crisis. Perez has been talking about a super league for years. He's just managed to build out his array of willing stooges, with Kroenke, FSG, Elliott Management and Levy completing the set.
  18. Aye, I mean it is his place of work for like 5 years now or whatever.
  19. A minor annoyance is the perception that West Ham are somehow one of the biggest clubs outside this 'top 6', they're not at all.
