I think we would have went down, but for whatever reason Bruce seemed to inconceivably pull a few results out the bag and kept his head above water. That luck may have ran out, but I’m actually less confident Howe could get us more points than sticking with Bruce at this point
-
Does Nickson even do any scouting, Trippier and Wood aren’t indicative of any kind of process to me. Not exactly unearthing hidden talent there, especially the former. Trippier’s agency seem to have been more influential in this window than our own team.
-
I think we were ultimately going down under Bruce anyway, but feel we would have more points at this stage, we would have spawned another win from Brentford, Norwich or Watford at home.
-
Would you not expect 1 win out of Brentford, Norwich and Brentford at home?
-
Nickson should have been replaced as soon as we were taken over, his record is largely terrible.
-
Not bringing in a director of football until after January “to conduct a thorough process” looks an insane decision Howe has been a terrible appointment A new scouting team should have been established as well.
-
Young McClaren Wouldn’t even be confident of getting promoted under him.

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

If he keeps us up, that £25m or whatever will be worth every penny, as outlandish as that seems. -

Since this is the 'Premier League established' goalscorer signing, I would hope our recruitment team take a chance on the other striking option like Azmoun or Barbosa -

Hoping Burnley's owners just use that £20m towards that debt they leveraged to buy the club with, rather than some new signings. -

Wouldn't be surprised if Burnley use this money to buy Brereton Díaz -
Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Since our last big-money striker ended up being Joelinton, think it’s only fair if this kid turns out to be the new Thierry Henry. -
Cantwell is another nothing player so would fit in well this this squad.
-
Isak just got a bad injury didn't he? Not that we would ever be a serious contender to sign him.
-
I get we're desperate, but moves for players like these just make me wonder what Nickson is even doing. Can our scouting team not find talent anywhere else?
-
We need two strikers Not opposed to Wood being one of them
-
I don’t want him sacked like, but the insinuation of an ‘overreaction’ from fans to the result seems odd. It’s a shocking day for the club.

Sean Longstaff (now playing for Leeds United)

That ligament injury he got a couple years back killed his career. He’s been largely hopeless since then. -
Thanks for that insight Eddie, would really hope that as Newcastle United we would play okay and create opportunities against a League One side in the Cup at home. In fact, I reckon that would be the bare minimum actually I think the big problem is that we actually lost the match.
-
Throw money at Diego Costa and get him in on a free
-
You would be concerned under any manager if you just lost at home in the cup fielding a full-strength team against a bottom-half league one side. Howe’s not a special case.

Another postponement please -
This is where I’m at, why persist with players who we know aren’t good enough for where we want to be as a club.
-
Literally one of the worst results in the club’s entire history, fans are well within their rights to go ballistic to be honest.
-
Not playing young talents like White, Anderson or calling up Stephenson and letting the usual numpties stagger around reeks of cowardice from Howe to be honest.
