  1. Created chances, limited them relatively ok. But we just couldn't score. Was basically like the game away at Arsenal under McClaren. Hopefully that isn't foreboding.
  2. Pleased as you can be with a defeat. Gargantuan game next weekend though.
  3. It's literally impossible to get sent off against us in the PL.
  4. Weirdly, we kind of are I hope I have to eat those words. But most of us expected nothing today.
  5. Either way, we've been far better. Whether it's us back to the 4-2-3-1 system or because Lascelles is back, whatever it is, it's better. Because of the quality of players we have, we were never going to be able to challenge Arsenal at the Emirates.
  6. We've looked a bit more solid with Lascelles back. But we're just not good enough, certainly not to challenge Arsenal on their home turf.
  7. Aye. Need to just stay in the game. Best we can hope for is to nick a point from a jammy goal from a set piece or something.
  8. Lush by Merino. Murphy should've just kept running at their backline there.
  9. Youre very fortunate not to have witnessed 90/91 and 91/92..... At the same time, I think the lad (HaydnNUFC) is just 16 so can't remember Keegan I or even Robson! He's seen nowt but us under Ashley... Yep.
  10. 1988-89 has FA Cup winning goalkeeper Beasant (terrible for us), as well as Liam O'Brien, John Hendrie, and Mirandinha (who turned to s*** after a good decent enough 1987-88). They played horribly at a club which had an unfinished stand and a boardroom needing to be forced out. Some similarities, in terms of the boardroom, but I would argue 1988-89 actually had more options than Benitez has. 1990-91 was a horrible squad - but, in terms of the top flight, the only recent one which gets close imo is 2006-07 (Ramage, Huntingdon etc.), and even that was only shown up by being injury-ravaged. Anyway, 0-4 today, lads Joselu with all 4.
