Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

The biggest mistake of this window is that ridiculous 35m price tag on Sissoko. I predicted this weeks ago that we would be stuck with him because of that asking price and miss out on decent money to strengthen the team. Yet I was laughed at and kept hearing how Rafa was totally right to do so. Well he wasn't. We are in profit with transfers so have spent nothing net. Rafa must of wanted at least 30m to spend when he agreed to stay. We can't need to sell Sissoko and the other dead wood that we overprice like gouffran rivière etc to buy but it sure looks that way -

Must win. Bristol city away will be tough and we know what we are like away from home. Norwich villa Brighton Derby all to follow too. Don't get our act together soon we could be still bottom 6 fter 8 games. Wonder if we constantly play it wide and cross it in with nobody in there to do anything -

I knew our squad was still not very good but I still don't think it's that much of a better league than last time. To think of the money we have blew over the last 5 year too. If we had spent even half that wisely we would of never been anywhere near relegation -
If 'done' means in line for a lucrative move to another elite club, then yes he is. Don't know why an elite club would want him he's made of smoke

He's definitely better than dummett yeah but he is just bang average and nothing better than what our rivals in this league has. Last time we had so many pluses who were too good for this league, this time as it stands I would struggle to name one. -

Everyone pretty much does at NUFC, though. Only players who come here with genuine quality seem to survive landing on the scrapheap, but even they are never quite the same - see Cabaye. True -

He's another one who people seem to pin hopes on but hasn't done anything of note. Our squad as it stands isn't going up. Colback Anita dummett lascelles sels Shelvey Aarons Perez are no better than what the other promotion contenders have. -

Gone backwards massively -
At last people realising what I said weeks ago. So, he Dosent want to play for us, his presence on the pitch would cause a bad atmosphere. We seemingly need the cash from him to strengthen where we need. Let's just take 18m like we should of weeks ago and move on. Rafa has no net spend yet. We technically have spent nothing. Surely when he agreed to stay he must of been promised 30m or so
-
Hold up, I was crucified for that same comment weeks ago. Don't know why. He's not going to play for us again, same as Tiote, so surely it's logical to listen to any sensible offers for them (anything over £3m for Tiote and £20m for Sissoko imo) to get them off the wage bill (they'll be on over 100k a week combined) and strengthen the team in the areas we need to with the cash. The current situation regarding the pair of them suits nobody. Couldn't put it any better I fully agree. I said that ages ago but was ridiculed for wanting to give our players away for nothing. We should of took a fair price for them both ages ago and could of strengthened where we need and had the players in and ready for the start of the season.
-
Someone like Sissoko no I don't see how he would as he just Dosent have enough natural talent. I can see how they would improve a players contributon to a team through tactical awareness etc but in terms of actual footballing ability and technique you have it or you don't. And with Ben arfa he just wasn't bothered at Hull. He's always had the talent to tear it up if he wanted too
-
In some positions I agree they can yeah but a winger relies on instinct and unpredictability and playing off the cuff. He's 27 too, I don't see what will change with him under a different manager
-
Not really, I just see people saying what I said weeks ago and nothing gets mentioned about it yet I was laughed at for saying sell him for 18m
-

Um ... not sure about that. Bolasie over both Townsend and Sissoko. Very keen to see Bolasie under a decent manager. Let's not forget he was managing to produce the performances he did under some horrific managers the past few years. If Palace replace Bolasie with Sissoko for big money, Palace fans will turn on him very very quickly, once he keeps losing the ball and kicking it into people. I never get the comment " let's see what he can do under a decent manager". It's a game of football. The manager can't play for him. He will play the same as he always has done. Also Sissoko just loses the ball constantly but is worth big money?

Soon as I seen that 35m price for Sissoko I feared this would happen. We would be stuck with him despite seemingly needing to sell him to fund signings -
I know we don't have many other options or no other options in some case and i know it's hard to sign quality in the championship but I always feel Newcastle fans always over rate and over hype some of our players when they are either average are done nothing yet. Is a left hand side of Aarons and dummett any better than the mid table sides?
-
I don't mean a midfielder who arrives late in the box and get goals, more a out and out playmaker who is good on the ball and can thread balls through the channels. We don't have a single player like this and haven't for a while Also it could be argued centre midfield is the worst part of our team
-
I keep seeing people mentioning them 3 positions and rightly so but what we are missing most is a playmaker. All we do is play it wide and then there's nobody to aim for in the middle. We are in desperate need of somebody to get on the ball in between our midfield and attack. Will be a hard slog to go up if we don't sign one
-
I know they have a few injuries but wenger really has neglected that squad

Trying to win back my losses on us. Manure look the only tempting bet today at just below evens or maybe all 4 teams to score in premiership games
