Says a lot about him if he goes to Spurs. Time will tell if its the right move but we're building something special with/without him.

Amen to this. It's more in the Chelsea/Man City ilk of buying youth that you can sell on at a later date. Literally investment as a way of balancing FFP. City have many examples of this, a few actually went to Southampton last season? We aren't used to it, but the winger Minteh at Feyenoord on loan this season may never play a first team game for us. But signing at £6m we could bank a profit on him within 1-2 years if he does well on a loan or two. Livramento coming in and learning off Trippier (in his final few years) before becoming our first choice right back for the next however many, for somewhere between £15-20m? Great recruitment yet again if we pull this one off. He will also get plenty of games this season, we need a squad. Look at Man City again as the blueprint, they could field two 11's that would both finish in the top 4.

Yeah you'd expect us and Spurs to hold the power here. Neither of us will overpay but seemingly we're the only buyers at the table. Leicester know they must sell, it'll fund their rebuild and they'll be flogging a player who will no way on this earth be happy to play in the Championship. Appears Leicester are trying to play the 'we won't sell unless x price is met' card but there comes a point where that has to be dropped to guarantee a sale.

Yeah, plenty of ways round this in terms of announcing something pre year end and getting the transaction through post year end.

Surprised we haven't had this suggestion for a chant yet; SANDRO TONALI SANDRO TONALI HE EATS SPAGHETTI HE DRINKS MORETTI You know the last line..
-
65 hours since this news broke and he's having his medical. What a well run club we've become
-
With Tonali and Brunoooooo last line? It's good either way though! Repeat x14
-
From the highlights i've seen Tonali looks to have more ability at crossing from that no mans land with a set piece towards the half way line. Can't think of many we scored from last season (Isak home to Wolves about it?). Cannot wait until Howe and his coaches get to work with Tonali.
-
Wouldn't mind it either to be honest. We've got Dan Ashworth doing Brighton things now but on a 10x budget. Completely trust our club top to bottom and its a feeling i'm getting used to!

When Francesco Totti predicts Tonali to become one of the best midfielders in the world you know your recruitment team are on the money.
-
No, always a let down to see that as the source. 'Caught offside' another
-
Overpaying or not, we're effectively replacing Shelvey with Tonali here with Longstaff becoming that squad member who still will see plenty of minutes across all comps.

Rice is gonna end up at City isn't he. Phillips going the other way
-
Just imagined his first wor flag and nearly got emotional. Welcome Don Sandro

Never happening with us lot, bat shit crazy Newcastle fans

I think we'll go big on the creative mid as well. Then probably look for the value in CB and LB. Not sure we need a backup forward this window?
-
'Official statement expected soon'

Must be looking at the Tonali business and thinking wow, he could play at 10 in front of Tonali and Bruno or inverted right winger with the two afore-mentioned plus Joelinton. Or he could go Spurs to play with Skipp and Hjoberg
-
Tonali Bruno Joelinton in a 433

Nice position to be in now that i'm really unphased either way on this. If he wants to come, welcome on board and enjoy the ride with us. If he'd prefer Spurs then f##k him and enjoy your pasting at SJP next season. We'll move onto the next one and our recruitment team will nail it, followed by Howe improving whoever we end up with as well. Compare this to Ashley years and any ounce of talent we were linked with i'd be desperate to get in (couldn't care less if they 'wanted it' or not).
