Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26
JP replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
Players back in tomorrow i believe? -
Yeah if we're going two players for every position the weak links are left back and right wing. Signing a new starting left back with Targett as backup allows Burn to be flexible back up for Botman and at left back also. Miggy/Murphy is a weakness for RW despite how well both did last season
-
Don't mind this at 4.5m for someone can be benched in harder games. Just start him in the 'easier' games.
-
Botman 4.5m absolute lock. Cheap enough to bench any given week.
-
Trent £8.0m

Howe + Barnes feels like the perfect fit in my opinion. Would welcome that one coming off

Replacing Jonjo Shelvey with Sandro Tonali

So happy the thread title has changed. Genuinely believe Ashworth was thinking f**k signing anyone when the title reads 8tmosphere
-
He's here and he's perfect

Agree and the thing we have above all else is a coach that will improve anyone that comes in as well as the toughest atmosphere in the league to play under (alongside Anfield imo). Marry those up with a team spirit we've developed since the takeover and we will still be sniffing around the top 4 next season. We've got bedwetting about transfers and we finished 4th last season with Jacob Murphy playing 50% of league games at right wing. The recruitment has been and will continue to be excellent with Ashworth, Nickson and Howe at the helm.

Yeah whilst I love the fact the club do business behind closed doors now, I am parched for some juicy link or a video of Tonali getting out the black people carrier

Trained with Newcastle Blue Star FC last night along with Murph

I knew Agbonlahor had made an account on here

Makes me think Ferran Torres rumour could have something in it.

About 50 goals away from Shearer? Another year at Spurs and that will be half that if he hits usual standards. Levy might be thinking he would then sign another Spurs deal and stay to break the prem record.
-
Diaby won't be going to Arsenal when they're spending £200m already on Rice, Havertz and Timber + Saka is nailed on RW starter.

After missing out on Maddison, I had a look at the below; Europe's top 10 chance creators 2022/23 1. Bruno Fernandes – 219 shot-creating actions 2. Lionel Messi – 189 shot-creating actions 3. Kieran Trippier – 178 shot-creating actions 4. Kevin De Bruyne – 176 shot-creating actions 5. Remy Cabella – 174 shot-creating actions =6. Jonas Hoffmann – 163 shot-creating actions =6. Martin Odegaard – 163 shot-creating actions =8. Benjamin Bourigeaud – 161 shot-creating actions =8. Bukayo Saka – 161 shot-creating actions 10. Antoine Griezmann – 158 shot-creating actions

Keep going back to the fact it's so exciting as a fan that I'm pretty 'meh' about us missing out on a player as good as Maddison as I trust the recruitment to have someone else as good/if not better lined up.

Gvardiol to City for circa €100m plus Nkunku going to Chelsea strengthens Leipzig's arm in our bid for Szob you'd think? They don't need to sell at all unless the player kicks up a fuss.

Emile Smith-Rowe

Interesting if Kane is off to Bayern it makes the move a bit more questionable on Maddisons side?
