Got there just before me

It doesn't matter what the attandance is, you can guarantee they'll be congratulating themselves for the magnificent support on RTG at 9:45pm

Another strange one, I would have assumed that if he was as soft as s****, Rafa would have picked that up in the scouting reports, seeing as he supposedly vets the players for character before committing. I can only go off what i saw first hand. It's the only time i've seen him close up and for a decent amount of minutes. I could be totally wrong of course.
-
Got a decent look at him when he played in the Hull cup game. He did some good stuff with the ball and looked pacey but also bottled a 50/50 on the halfway line so my guess is that Rafa has him in the "soft as s****" category. Probably the right decision, our fans never have much patience with those types, Thauvin is a recent example.

Nail your colours to the mast - where will we finish?

A couple of good signings could really transform us, whether we get them or not is anyone's guess. With the current squad i'd say between 14th and 17th -
I'm impressed with his determination to improve his fitness over the summer. It was pretty obvious that he ran out of steam a little bit in the 2nd half of last season and he's realised that this season is gona be even tougher for him if he doesn't address the issue. He said wants to go to the World Cup so he wants to give himself the best chance possible. Fair play to him, i hope he's rewarded for it.

If we were selling Mitrovic and getting Lucas Perez for a similar price i think i'd be pretty happy with that. -

I actually thought he would be good at first. He was a big strong lad with pace and seemed to have decent defensive instincts. The main things that let him down were his crossing and long passing (which he had to do quite a lot under Pardew). Unfortunately injuroes have completely ruined him, i hope he can get his career back on track at a lower level. -
It's because Johnson was a key player for them imo. They hated Gibson anyway so are using it as a stick to beat him with. Go back a year and if Defoe does exactly the same thing it would be markedly different. Yep you pretty much nailed it mate!
-
Absolutely loving this Gibson carry on it's brilliant! The difference in their reaction compared to the Nohnson affair is interesting aswell - Player is arrested for sexual activity with a minor and grooming = Innocent until proven guilty marra! Player gets pissed and calls the team shit = I want him out of the club now!
-
That's the reason i voted keep. Poor state of affairs really.
-
Yeah that sounds about right. Like i said he wasn't great but he was nowhere near our worst player. Coloccini and Santon were both atrocious and utterly gutless in that game but stayed on.
-
I think a few of those clips are from Everton away when Pardew hooked him at half time cos it was apparently his fault we were 3-0 down. He hadn't been great but i remember reading the the time that he was the only player on the pitch with 100% pass success. Absolute genius that Pardew fella!

That's it like! ?

He was incredible that game. Not just that though, it seemed like every week he was making last-minute saves to secure the points for them. Cantona got all the credit but Schmeichel was probably more influential overall. The bastard! -

I've always said this. If we'd had a world class goalkeeper that season we'd have won the league. I loved Pav but he was nowhere near Schmeichel's level and Hislop didn't justify his price tag (which was high for a keeper at the time IIRC). -
Absolutely loved his winning goal and "salute" celebration at Spurs on Rememberance Sunday, i'll always remember him for that. I wouldn't want him back though, he's proven to be injury prone and uncommitted in the past, we can do better.

At least i don't refer to the princely Chris Hughton as Chris Houghton -

I've never understood the hype over Wiltshire. There's no doubt he's very talented but he's never fit and even when he is he's not as good as the southern media make out. He seems to believe his own hype aswell which makes him hard to like. I hope we stay well away. -

There's something a bit bullshitty about this constant Rolan link. We were linked with him quite a few times while Carr was here and nothing materialised, i can't see Rafa thinking he's the type of player we need, especially now Carr has gone. Could be his agent feeding rumours to the press to try and drum up some Premier League interest in his guy? -

Pedro is very two-footed, been a fan of his for years now. He doesn't get rave reviews but he's a quality player i think. -

100% hoping the Clucas link is true after watching that interview. He seems like exactly the kind of character that we need next season. Even if his ability only half matches his attitude then he'd still be a very useful player for us. -
Total bullshit from Murray. Why would Taylor want to go to there while McCarthy was manager? We were half decent at the time and Sunderland were abysmal (as usual). Even in the dark days under Souness we were comfortably better off than the mackems.
-
Absolutely loved watching him while he was here, he was one of the only bright spots in a very dull team with a very dull manager. Agree with those who say that Benitez won't fancy him though, it's understandable considering how Rafa likes his teams to play. Saying that, even if HBA could only be arsed for 50-60% of the time, he'd still be a lot more productive than the likes of Perez, Diame and De Jong.

Macktracking still cracks me up!
