  1. Dani Ceballos might be going to Spurs.
  2. Everything at the moment is pointing to the takeover being dead and Ashley moving the goalposts, however some things don't add up. Why did Peter Redding say on Monday that the Bin Zayed Group were still optimistic if the takeover was off or it was fairly close to falling apart? Why did the same journalist say they have been waiting on the Premier League if the takeover was off? Why are they taking so long to release their statement if there is no chance of a takeover being done? If I was in their position I would want to wash my hands of this deal as soon as possible if the takeover was dead. This statment can't come soon enough because I'm tired of all these claims and counter claims at this point.
  3. They provided proof of funds on April 17th. If it was just a throw away line in their previous statements I would be sceptical, but they gave a specific date for when they provided proof of funds. Some sections of the media are basically calling the Bin Zayed Group liars at this point yet never go to the trouble to pick apart Ashley's previous lies and contradictions. The Bin Zayed Group are the only ones that have provided clarity on the takeover situation. The club have had many opportunities to back up or counter their claims, but have decided to keep silent.
  4. Is it that quiet? I have seen 7 or 8 different managers being linked with the job already. Its probably because more people are more interested in the slim hopes of a takeover than the possibility Dyche could get £100 million to spend on the squad if he becomes the new manager.
  5. Lee Ryder has been saying there has been no bid on the table since the takeover story broke. I just don't understand that since the statements that there were was no progress made in the takeover. That's not to suggest Ashley hasn't moved the goalposts, but I doubt the Bin Zayed Group were just sitting on their hands for weeks since their statements and were just wasting time. Says a lot about the state of the clubs communication with the fans when would be owners like the Bin Zayed Group are being relied on to provide clarity on the situation. What does a bid actually look like? Doesn't a Head of Terms agreement coupled with proof of funds constitute a bid? I know nothing about how these sort of business deals work, but from what others have said I thought a Head of Terms agreement was just a deal agreed in principle, but the buying party could revise an official bid after further due diligence. I'm not sure proof of funds means a lot in terms of a bid other than the selling party being willing to talk seriously to the buying party. I could have that completely wrong so anyone can feel free to pick holes in what I just said.

  7. Rodri to Man City. I can't see anyone other than Man City winning the league until Guardiola leaves.
  8. I thought I had reached the point where I was just numb to whatever Ashley did these days, but its still gut retching to see the club disintegrate like this. Sounds unnecessarily dramatic, but Newcastle has been a big part of my life and its hard seeing the club the way it is. I will probably still follow football as a neutral, but I do feel like I'm losing something. Wish this place could be redesigned as a general chat about football and just blank out Newcastle.
  9. Just like with the Mitrovic deal it will be paid in £5 million instalments.
  10. Benitez was the cream in the oreo that held the biscuit together.
  11. The last two times we were in the Championship we had very popular managers in Benitez and Hughton that were able to galvanise both players and fans to move forward in a shared direction. We were also fortunate that some of the good players that got relegated were willing to stay to help the club get promotion. Only Newcastle and Burnley have managed to bounce straight back up from relegation, it shows how difficult it is to get out of the Championship these days. If and when this takeover collapses Ashley only has himself to blame for not selling when the clubs stock was high. He has had 2 chances and it looks like he will be derailing a third takeover in 2 years. Hes gambling again and its going to backfire spectacularly on him. There is not a chance this club survives relegation next season.
  12. I have never seen a club be in such a mess going into pre season.
  13. If there is to be a statement on the takeover from the Bin Zayed Group I just hope to have clarity on the situation. Can we not have some good news for once? It has just been one hammer blow after another. Feels like a long time since we have been excited by anything without being worried by any possible bad news around the corner.
  14. You would have to be an insane cunt to want this job.
  15. Even by Ashleys standards this is just insane. The squad was already fairly weak yet Newcastle are making it worse. https://twitter.com/NUFC360/status/1146127293942837253
  16. Throw in selling Longstaff to Man United as well. Not that it matters, but thats a huge source of goals and creativity gone and Newcastle don't exactly splash the cash for replacements. Another relegation under Ashley is inevitable.
  17. I'm not sure how reliable the source is because he works for Talksport, but I honestly can't blame Perez or any other player leaving. In fact even if a takeover happened for Perez alone he has been a great servant and has probably earnt a move to a more ambitious club. It is sad though that this club now has its best players picked off by the likes of Leicester who not so long ago were in League 1. It just shows how far you can take a club if you show some ambition.
  18. Combining what Man United paid for Wan Bizzaka and what Zaha and Maguire are allegedly valued at then they could be priced at nearly £200 million. Insane.
  19. Up your daughter's mate's c***. One of the replies Richard Keyes is comedy gold. Unfortunate for him.
  20. Up your daughter's mate's c***.
  21. "Still buoyant" suggests to me they might have made more progress, but its not done yet. At least thats how I'm interpreting it. I wonder what the Bin Zayed Group have been doing with the Premier League because all North East journalists seem to think no fit and proper tests have taken place. If there is a statement in the next few days whether its good or bad news I hope we know where we stand.
  22. Benitez basically saying in the politest way possible that Ashley hasn't changed and the club have no ambitions higher than finishing 17th in the league. I'm really glad he left because he deserves much better.
  23. I hope Benitez tears Ashley apart with his statement. I wouldn't be surprised if Ashley tries to counter it by leaking a positive takeover story in the press as well.
