It was a hoot when it called off, the stupid mags are f*cked Its a hoot now its gone through, the stupid mags are f*cked seen one say "we had more topflight points than them until 1997" basically admitting were historically better than them and have been for quarter of a century but still claiming it as a victory somehow. (13year head start too- or handicap) I think its all the constant losing and being second fiddle to us that's done fried their brains and they simply cannot compute anymore of it. "Springfield has a discipline problem, i guess that's why we beat them at football nearly half the time!"-esque
  2. When I think back my problem with Man City was that it meant the money was going to get even more ridiculous rather than the human rights record, which was a given for any group from the middle east, goes without saying, maybe bit of the discomfort wsa to do with that but never once have I accused Man City fans of anything political. Saudi and UAE had played in world cups and nobody batted an eyelid. I think it reasonable that I should apply that to my own club and arguably when it comes down to for football fans is how it effects the game, which isn't good. The political side of it is always there for those that are more into that more.
  3. So true. It used to be that way. Nobody took pleasure from what happened at Brighton and Aldershot in the 90s. That's pretty much what 606 used to be about - now its 50year old d*ckheads playing games. Bad ownership has always made me uncomfortable probably having come up through McKeag and co but it seems its a laughing matter to a lot of the fans and people in football since the millennium. The only people I'd wish Ashley on are the people that have the theory he did nothing wrong and enjoyed what happened to us.
  4. Such an infantile point. Were considerably bigger than all of those clubs so of course our suffering will be different and relative. Hartlepool, Darlington, Scarborough and York would envy those teams. I feel for all of them and if we were their size under Ashley we'd have had the same experience and had the same blind-eye from the media and PL that we had anyway. We were deliberately held back by the owner for his benefit, not just stupidly ran like all of those with the exception of Blackpool. Not many clubs get 50k regularly in the second tier because a club that gets 50k regularly in the second tier shouldn't be in the second tier. By the same token nobody in Britain can complain about anything compared to suffering elsewhere in the world, though I bet Nick does umpteen times today alone.
  5. We need to be thinking who would definitely get us out of relegation. That's the tricky bit because something elaborate may be an own-goal to that end you're absolutely right for me, leaving it at getting rid of Bruce is the best move I can see right now. Redknapp until the end of the season been mentioned?
  6. Thought about doing the same its that bad. They'd better climb down from that. Please make it happen social media people.

I love how apoplectic with rage some of them are at the local media covering a takeover that's been covered by pretty much every media outlet on the planet. I've read coverage in Marca, Corriere Dello Sport, Gazzetta Dello Sport, Lequipe, LeMonde, Fox News, CNN, the New York Times and our national newspapers as well as seeing it on Sky News, BBC WORLD news, BBC national news and Al Jazeera. But Look North are a disgrace for covering the biggest takeover in sports history happening on their doorstep. I'll miss their bizarre outlooks and mega inferority complexes
  8. Having said that I like Martinez as a bloke and the football matches he creates, just its in the same way I like to watch fireworks - from afar, without any investment, effort or risk on my part.
  9. Daniel 'the rabbit' Fonseca that Martinez = Ardiles
  10. He's right and that's what I don't get. Totally understand Hatice's disappointment at the Saudi's being allowed to do anything but why is buying NUFC 'heartbreaking' to her and not global F1 or global boxing or global wrestling. The UK has sold Saudi's weapons for decades but buying 80% of a football club is the bit that's beyond the pale!? After Olympics and before winter Olympics in China, all the Chinese/Russian/Arab investment in scores of English clubs and businesses, World Athletics Championships in Qatar in front of 20people, World Cup in Russia, World cup in Qatar, PSG, Man City, WWE, Boxing, F1 - NUFC is the point where the fight back against taking the money of unpleasant regimes begins?! So they can all benefit but we cant? If we were the very first I'd agree but this s*it started 30years ago man. PS Liverpool supported neavau riche Blackburn's quest to overhaul the hated Manchester United in the mid 90s. I guess if its not a threat to them its okay.
  11. Exactly my view when people criticise John Hall. Whatever he got he only got by completely transforming the club and did a good job, perfectly fine with that, in fact that's just reasonable.
  12. So similar. Went home for dinner heard it. Incredibly had English next lesson in the afternoon, upstairs big windows overlooking the area, sun shone - maybe romanticising it but it felt like the first hint of spring and winter ending, everything felt different (hadn't even known KK as a player).
  13. L'Equipe headline "Newcastle change de monde" Don't think it'll be like that but wow.
  14. Takes me back to things like Ginola/Robert not tracking back and losing clean-sheets in 6-1 wins. First world problems
  15. I like Gerrard but think he should stay at Rangers a good while yet, many managers have finished themselves jumping at the first big-league offer instead of honing their craft, its all experience for him and he'll experience everything - cup finals, Europe, title races, and winning and losing big games and though he'll need something in a bigger league pre-Liverpool but would feel too steppy-stoney and experimental. Been that long since I thought about top end managers I've no idea whose available and whose at a club they'd leave. The assignment would have been absolutely perfect for Rafa, steady building on foundations he built, the only fly in the ointment really. Would love Keegan to do the recruiting of the manager.
  16. Hows about we do what you and 99% of similar complainants did at the last World Cup and what you'll do at the next World Cup, feel conflicted but turn a blind eye because it suited you where this doesn't? Which is almost certainly what your problem really is. If they'd bought any other business in Newcastle would you care, despite all your 'morals objections' being just as present?
  17. How, in the space of two days, have we humiliated Jordan, wiped that smirk off Richard Keys/Masters faces, shut up Bruce's media chums, seen the end of Ashley, the inevitable end of Charnley, Bruce, the Steve's and Shola, Luke 'I hate Stavely' Edwards humiliated, the trolls silent, the mackems insignificance extended indefinitely and made some of the big6 (especially the conspirators) soil themselves and got our club back? How do you even begin to get your head around this? Its like the end of one of the Godfathers and it worked in our favour
  18. There's teams in London that don't celebrate like that winning titles and cups. Imagine if this club won something and we really can imagine it now, still may not happen but f**k a duck what a night that would be.
  19. Hard to say not knowing the extent to which Ashley has bobby-trapped things (sold the land off around the ground, diverted club shop funds to S**** D**** revenues has barely grown since he came etc.) I'm not after much personally though so am placated. Think some people might not be. The Keegan way would be a blue-print ideally. Surge of fans > income > sign some decent players > winning streak > even more surge of fans and so on but different times now, so?
  20. I was a bit bitter when Man City were bought I'll admit, so that's good of you. Just happy to have rid of him first and foremost. Anything else is a bonus. And because of how it feels to have a club back, can only imagine enjoying the good and bad of that right now. The only consolation with Man City was that they're real fans and for the numbers of those they deserved it (rather than Chelsea/Blackburn) would like others to see it that way with us. Its been horrid under Ashley - not caring if you go down or get promoted is was ridiculous.
  21. With a disproportiante amount of Amanda's. Feels like when Keegan came back as manager. All the possibilities that lay before us before we took that first step. Nothing was proven but you had that warm feeling inside and smile you couldn't hide. Lifted the whole place. An unseasonaly mild day then too.
  22. All that misery and hopelessness and sacrifices. Many thought we may never see the end of Ashley, nobody would have been surprised if he handed it down the generations. We earned this. Never had more money than during Ashley's reign, out of work now and may not get back for years if ever, but it doesn't matter, delighted for everyone that can get back, delighted to be one of those that doesn't know where there seat is at cup games......am just delighted to have a club back, all the good and bad that went with that.
  23. Newcastle World Order (make the shirt) *Vince can't sue because he's in there with MBS too.
  24. I actually am looking forward to loosing feeling like loosing again instead of not mattering.
  25. A watched pot never boils. Only came on here last night about 8pm to see what the latest banter was - saw the Aviation thread and new manager thread at the top and wondered if Ashley had slotted Bruce.
