Zadok Yohanna: Newcastle make €24m bid to AIK (Expressen)
Wolfcastle replied to Nobody's topic in Football
Whoomph there it is -
Very vague. Rush was at Leeds that season.
-
A big reason is were a poor watch. A change in style of play would be welcome and the current style isn't even getting results
-
Yeah. Could still see he had class. He was Liverpool's best player in the Andy Cole 3-0 after he came on and was finished then.
-
Yes. Been scathing of the work he did here but even at the time I couldn't help but like him and I think that's part of the reason. You could see glimmers of what his inner circle always talked about regarding his humour in the interviews that had been well documented to be almost wind ups with reporters.

There's the format too. Even under Dalglish we'd have likely gotten enough points to make the playoffs of the current format from 2 extra games, needing only 2points - especially given that would have meant games against at least one lesser like now instead of the three established clubs we'd already played. Even with stiffer CL competition and being dismal ourselves.
-
Don't know if its wishful thinking but I think for a split second Gabriel was about to celebrate that before he realised he'd missed and probably in the same moment it it home that he's a cunt
-
just seen, oh well, tough shit
-
Obviously want Arsenal to lose but have lost so much interest in this that all the sting has gone
-
very few are, but they're still rightly given

Has a new handball rule come into force this season where its just pot luck whether your handball will be given or not or something?

Changing days and kick off times from things that worked just fine for generations is what the football powers that be do best.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26
Wolfcastle replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
We'll get Everton in the PL first week of the season, just to make it even more pointless. -
Lot of it going around - farm clubs being forced to accept less from the elite clubs for players than before when selling players is what the rules have forced some of them to do anyway and is a major source of sustenance for others. Still, at least its all nice and fair now
-
There's people on here were happy to have them back in the Premier League. They're here for the forseeable now so those people must be cock-a-hoop. Emphasis on cock.

One of the few I wouldn't sell, so were bound to sell.

Sir Bobby did great over the piece, don't think anybody has said otherwise and it wasn't an assessment of his performance over that time that resulted in the club sacking him - it was trying to arrest the slide we were on allied with the unlikelihood that in his final year it could be turned around. Our goose was already cooked on that score by that point whether we kept Sir Bobby for the rest of his contract or brought in either Venables or Souness. Only another elite appointment that summer would have given us a chance.

Still don't feel like the bloom has come of the rose with Nuno. Walked into a bad situation at West Ham, did great at Forest and was always a nuisance to us (until last week). Palace and Bournemouth could do a lot worse.

On one window we went from CL to being lower midtable mediocrity with a squad on paper that that looks about right for. At best a couple players added depth to the squad without moving the dial in the right direction on the first team. Probably the worst window in the clubs history.
-
Yeah I'm disappointed in how he and the club treat those games in a similar way to I am about today tbh. Really thought Howe was better than that. That he'd have riled the players up to perform for the fans today even with nothing else to play for, even especially as there was nothing else to play for (ala Rafa) and I think you're right about that likeness, I don't think he went in arrogantly like the "miss the Derby's" folk on here but more because he's not experienced passionate derbys exemplified by Tindall's nieces purported response to the backlash which was standard if not tame.
-
Didn't even get a club that tried today.
-
Same as Sir Bobby. A game away from the Quarters.
-
Read on here he's not very good. Apropos of nothing be interesting to see how AFC Bournemouth get on in Europe next season
