  1. Don't think any would be clambering to put their name to the Chelsea game anyway, so definitely worth signing off from this if its bothersome until after that's out the way. I definitely don't want to go into Brighton half-cocked even if just for the time thereafter before the next game cos the games after that are vital for results and were not getting a new team in January. I'll be joining the panic-mongers at that point.
  2. Aye, and thats basically the cause of all of this, the sudden nature of it and in mid-season. Think they just had to jump at it before Ashley could play silly buggers again and re-plan everything from where we are now.
  3. There's a vaccum I wasn't expecting that's causing some people a bit of anxiety. We effectively still don't know what their plans are beyond a few interviews when the takeover went through and I guess the managerial appointment is the first sign of that. Was expecting training ground plans, stadium plans or just some presser about their plans which would sooth this situation. but then if it was someone out of work it shouldn't take this long, certainly indicates there's no slam dunk of the unemployed managers because surely that'd be sorted by now and yet your right it would come out if we were approaching clubs.
  4. 'Koeman to replace Cowman' a cruel headline might say

Shame only finals will suffice for most of them. Anywhere else would be a bit excited being one game away from a semi-final but these only half fill their stadium for small fry like that don't they.
  6. Had a few pieces published on the Mag website, just about to hoy a couple more in this week. Running out of ideas but could try and contribute if every little helps.
  7. Its a great point. Same goes for any players or managers at any point really. When you hear players preferring London and the anonymity of it, they're not right for Man United, Liverpool or us. Players that dig the pros and cons of having a passioante crowd have revelled here. Keegan epitomised it and made a point to get the right players in with that in mind.

After undoing the damage Ashley has done, leaving solid foundations and selling to someone other than Ashley. A win win for sunderland somehow obviously. Plus we'd be morally sound then and they'd stop hating us.
  9. For the record went with Ten Hag because I don't consider Rafa or Rodgers candidates.
  10. Bruce will not know what to do with himself or how to fill the time now he's got Saturday off as well as a couple hours on Tuesday and Thursday. I guess just do what he did for 95% of the time we were paying him millions and he wasn't working.
  11. Taylor, Sir Bobby and McLaren all slaughtered as England managers by the national media with little to no defence from the pundits. All northerners I notice.
  12. Don't get why people are going on about 'were creating a society that etc. etc.' - its always been this way ffs. Its just now what was contained in fanzines, pubs and break-times at work/school and private discussions is now there for anybody to see if they want to. Football managers have been hated by their own fans as long as I've known - often far worse than this and almost always with less justification. How many others suckled up to a hate owner and wound the fans up from behind the safety of lockdowns? Its just utterly bizarre that Bruce released from a job he only got for a laugh to begin with, is some sort of revelation.
  13. Yip. Decent bloke but awful manager suddenly matters when its your team (Dublin's a Man U fan)
  14. "the Man United fans don't see Ole the bloke, they see the performances on the pitch" - Dion "Bruce's mate" Dublin hypocrites used to be better than this surely?
  15. Preserves our 5-0 I suppose. Chelsea in 99, Liverpool now both had red-cards. Cantona should have had three red cards in that game alone. Right in thinking this, the City 1-6, the Chelsea 5-0 and our 5-0 all in October
  16. Remember when we went there, got beat 4 and our head-coach was 'delighted' with it?
  17. Rafa could throw them under the bus for this abuse, for even though every manager gets it, unless they flag it up for sympathy none of these bleeding hearts could care less. Not the type though. Squeeky wheel gets the grease, empty vessels make the most noise, not a self-pitying deflecting c**t etc.
  18. Anyone watching the 24hour vigil for the sacked Mick McCarthy, i can't find it?
  19. Aye. Wanted to go down under Ashley because promotion/relegation winning'/losing didn't matter anymore and I wanted it to matter by forcing him out. Now that's happened it does and very much don't want to go down, like it should be. Even if we'd be okay its a stain on the club I don't want.
  20. Be a lot easier not to say infinitely fairer to just allow the shirt sponsor, but noooo, the hateful 18 had to be c**ts about it.
  21. Martinez is Jennifer Lawrence to me, not bad, but don't get the fuss at all and given the choice not sure at all that I would. Based on the Hunger Games/Everton. Sure the blonde hair and easy international games enhance them but that's not real. I think we can agree on who would be Susan Boyle in this analogy though, except she has a good personality.
  22. Its good that they say they're going to consult - I guess, its just reasonable but after 14years of the opposite it feels good Much rather it just be the already long since besmerched shirts and shirt sleeves. XYZ St James Park for a very good shot at glory is at least worth consideration. Remember how gleeful some organisations and people were to jump on calling it that? Ironically they'd probably refer to it as SJP even if we got sponsored now out of the same spite, thus giving us less to lose.
  23. Getting excited because the bloke referred to it as "we". He also referred to PIF as "they" but they never mentioned or showed that bit in the interests of inbalance
  24. He's arguably bottom of the list of important managers in my time supporting Newcastle and only even relevant at all because he went above and beyond the call of duty at being unlikable and poor at his job. And were just a small club everyone keeps saying. Don't think he'd be far off the bottom of Villa's list either. Souness got to a cup semi-final, Gullit a final, Dalglish a final (First in decades)+ Barcelona, Pardew 5th, Hughton inherited a cluster f*ck of a situation and could hardly have done better Roeder took over Souness mess and went from 6th bottom to 7th top in a couple months, tonking the mackems on way and presiding over Shearer's farewell McFaul was a total club legend before being a manager Ossie arguably set up the style Keegan built on and blooded youngsters many of whom went on the hold their own at the highest level for us Benitez relegation fodder promoted and established in midtable on nothing and gave the city/club pride and hope again Apart from the caretakers there's only Jim Smith as unimportant to NUFC's recent history as Bruce but he was an infinitely better man and manager in my book.
  25. Neil Lennon was on about it last night. A bloke who had actual death threats and a bullet sent to him thought getting called a cabbage head (not even a phrase we coined - national media started the manager for vegetable racket and Martin Samuel was in on it) was out of order. Another one off the top of my head is Boro fans hated McLaren (there most succesful manager by far) - he got so much sympathy for that the national media that they made him a laughing stock.
