Another player who has regressed massively under Bruce. Thought he would’ve been sold in the summer as he was out of favour for most of last season. Hope he told Bruce where to go after that performance on Friday.
  2. This. So many people who do nothing but complain when others fans try and do something to force change (boycotts and that 15 min walk in against West Ham being prime examples). These are the same people who will complain about Bruce and Ashley but will turn up for games (in normal times!) anyway and enable the stagnation of our club even more.
  3. If that was the case, then it would seem a bit off that Reuben stepped down from QPR. If it had been rejected last week then there would be no need for him to resign? Not saying that it’s been approved either but I think an official rejection doesn’t tie in with recent events.
  4. Think it will be a game (and season) where we scrape a point and get away with it again. Enough to keep pressure on Bruce but nothing more.
  5. Be interesting to see what the viewing figures are like since football came back with no crowds. Pretty small sample I know, but me and most of the people I know still watch as many games as we did prior to lockdown. The premier league will be fine but I can see there being a lot less appetite to watch a championship game with no crowds.
  6. Is anyone following the recent tweets made by the parody Mike Ashley account on Twitter? Can’t tell if he is going for an even more elaborate wind up or if he’s actually ITK.
  7. Feel physically sick after reading that Staveley interview. As many suspected, the premier league is corrupt to it’s core and is happy to maintain the status quo by keeping the top 6 and its broadcasters happy. Think the statements released is a last ditch attempt to get this through but it’s given the PL what they want. Genuinely feels like we’ve all been robbed of having a club to support again, and more importantly the region has been robbed of some much needed investment. Self preservation at its finest from the PL.
  8. Looks like there’s more overseas market trouble for the premier league as China have announced they will stop showing games. My heart bleeds for them...
  9. 1-0 defeat, we’re gonna crawl over the finishing line. At least a defeat will just about confirm Villa’s relegation.
  10. Remember when we all used to dread waiting for the 10pm newspaper headlines.
  11. Biggest factor for me is that the government want it to happen. All the noises from journalists have been that this will pass eventually... Of course the longer it goes on, the more people start to doubt it’ll not go through. It’s a disgrace that the premier league have allowed this to go on for nearly 3 months though.
  12. He’s the forum t***. I've not seen enough of him to judge. He just seems like a colossal pessimist to me. Pessimist is being kind. His posts are quite sadistic in that he seems to revel in shutting down any sort of positivity.
  13. The likes of Ziegler and Ian Dennis should be banned from any access to the to club just for their clear and obvious sh*t stirring and Qatari agenda.
  14. Definitely raises more suspicions about Mauriss There's no way that man has the kind of money to buy a Premier League club. Correct, everything about it seems to point back to Qatar. Whole thing is corrupt to f*ck.
  15. It will be when the league restarts and the media have some actual football to talk about. Hopefully it’s done at the same time Liverpool win the league and gets overshadowed by that.
  16. Short but concise. If we are going to be owned by big money investors with shady motives, might as well go for the ones who's aim will be to make Newcastle great rather than boost their shareholder dividends. Any this the other side of the argument that the media aren’t covering. Yes, the Saudis are clearly abhorrent when it comes to human rights. But, in a deprived area of the UK in a post Brexit and (hopefully) soon to be post COVID-19 economy, investment in the club and area could be massive. It’s sad that it might come to this but are we really in a position to say no? I get that this is part of the whole sportswashing narrative but I think the impact it could have on the region is huge.
  17. There’s no way that’s true. Couldn’t give a f*ck how easy a ride they get in training, the football we’ve played for most of the season has been horrific. The players won’t enjoy playing backs to the wall every game and I’d seriously question their confidence in their own ability if they think they can’t do any better under another manager.
  18. Barkley would be a class signing but not sure if Stones is an upgrade on what we already have. Centre half would be the last position I’d be looking at compared to the rest of the squad.
  19. Mark Douglas did say yesterday that it’s likely there would be some sort of media embargo if an announcement was due. I’m sure we’ll find out more in the next couple of days.
  20. We’re nearly there, either Friday or Tuesday for an announcement imo.
  21. Careful now. STM[/member] will be along soon to laugh at you for talking sense like that. We can’t know for the sure if it will make a difference, but I imagine it will suit the premier league more if they announce this before we announce the takeover. The return of the premier league will definitely overshadow any other football related news so it might keep away some of the negative press relating to us.
  22. The Telegraph is reporting that the premier league clubs are set to go ahead with restarting the league on June 19th. Hopefully that speeds things up a bit for us once Project Restart is approved.
