They should be happy that this stuff is being brought into the public eye as who knows what other dodgy stuff their owners have done or could do. I think the headline of being charged 9% interest has been sensationalised, but it’s absolutely hilarious that their response is that it’s down to the age old magedia conspiracy.
  2. Feels like each week seems to end on a positive note about the takeover coming to a conclusion in the following week, only for the headlines on Sunday night/Monday morning to sh*t all over it. It’s got to the point where it’s emotionally draining waiting for an outcome. The initial excitement has faded and it will be more of a massive relief if and when we get the good news that everything is done. I wonder what will be dug up to try and stop the takeover this week. Fwiw, I’m still confident it will go through and feel like a lot of the negative coverage has been an easy way for the media to generate clicks on their sites.
  3. If Pochettino is the top target then don’t we have to wait until June to get him for nothing? Training is due back on 18th May so it would only be 2 weeks until he could link up with the team. I guess we’ll get an answer this week on whether the league will restart so that will give us a better idea of the timescales between now and the restart, as well as the period between this season finishing and next season starting. As mentioned above, it looks like we’ll have a shorter pre season so surely it’s better to get a new manager in for the last few games and assess the squad? I think it will give us a much better chance of doing well next season.
  4. If the PL approve it on Wednesday or later then it still might not be announced until the week after. Transfer of funds might take another 3-5 days so the wait could go on... not sure how much longer I can wait at this point.
  5. I think we’ll get an announcement next Friday. Don’t think I can take the stress of another week!
  6. Everyone has plenty of time on their hands at the moment so it’s no surprise there’s people posting a load of bs to gain attention.
  7. The King has just been relieved of his duties in Holland...
  8. Only 29 games in total between his last two jobs.
  9. Spoke to a mate of mine about this and he got two of the freebies for other people when they came out. He says all the tickets are in his name so not sure if that has any relevance when it comes to renewing them. I know in the past that you had to sign up personally when buying a season ticket. I suppose the box office could always contact the paying ticket holder and ask them to get the free ticket holders to fill out a renewal form. Would be a bad PR move to begin with IMO.
  10. My guess is we’ll get an announcement when money is transferred and the deal is done.
  11. This is the most confident I’ve seen Caulkin regarding the PL tests. Hopefully just a matter of time now.
  12. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastle-target-350m-bid-media-21935864 Brokered by one of Ashley’s dodgy mates apparently. No detailed background of the supposed buyer apart that he is an ‘honourable and charitable man’. Pray that Staveley & co get approved because I think we’re all sick of this dragging on any further.
  13. I’m in the same boat mate, cancelled mine end of last season and thought we’d be stuck with Ashley forever. Takeover still hasn’t been announced yet so don’t want to tempt fate but I’ll be looking at getting my ticket back if it happens. The free ticket lot can f*ck off being given first dibs on season tickets imo. Only fair way is general sale. First come, first served.
  14. It’s hard to look at this objectively having cancelled my ticket last season along with the fact I’ll be desperate to get it back if the takeover goes through. However, under absolutely no circumstances should the free ticket brigade be given first refusal on their seats. I would like to say that those who have boycotted should get first dibs but then I don’t really think that’s fair either. Those who cancelled knew that it would be hard to get their ticket back in the event of us being took over... we just didn’t expect the fat c*nt to give away 10k tickets for nothing! The 10k free tickets should just go on general sale on a first come, first served basis.
  15. Been thinking about this and wondering why Caulkin would release anything on this unless it’s near enough done. After all, it’s well documented that Ashley isn’t a fan of media coverage. Even though his job is to report on these sort of things, I doubt he would risk jeopardising the whole thing unless it’s a lot further down the line that’s being let down. On the other hand, the whole ‘papers submitted to the premier league’ thing sounds like it’s been leaked from someone at the premier league which ties in with the telegraph article being released. Hopefully it has no effect on the deal going through.
  16. I’d take another 6 months of lockdown if it means this goes through.
  17. Wonder if Charney will be furloughed. He isn't first team. Wish he was just straight up sacked tbh. It’s the first thing I’d do as new owners, and take great pleasure in doing it.
  18. Doesn’t look great after the club were happy to take money off fans last week to then go and immediately furlough all staff the week after. Wouldn’t expect anything less from this regime however.
  19. I wouldn't take any notice of the above article and what he's written. He knew f*** all about this (again) and simply reported on another report. Today, when no one is at the club he's managed to somehow instantly get an exclusive insight in to what is happening with a secretive deal without leaving his bedroom. I'm not saying there is a bid, but if there was Chief crayon supervisor would be the last to know. He does have contacts within the club, but they are all at player and staff level. Nothing at any level of importance to the takeover but he'll get you some inside gossip on player relationships. Sounds about right tbf. I’d be giving Ryder too much credit if I believed he had all the juicy gossip about the takeover.
  20. Does anyone ever actually bid for us? Poor old Mike just can’t catch a break with these buyers yet again.
  21. Just wait until he increases the next batch of renewals by 10%. Got to recoup those free tickets somehow.
  22. His shares in Sports Direct have took a massive hit but will likely recover once everything returns to normal. I can’t see this making him any more likely to sell unfortunately.
  23. Would love to see him go into insolvency. Be great to get our club back with the most epic of karma bombs on the fat man. It would be glorious. The only bad thing would that he’d still have more than enough money once he sold us even if Sports Direct went tits up.
