I disagree, they're a talented but inexperienced team that a street wise team would have beaten and taught them a valuable lesson to learn from then win in a few years, not now.

If the teams this Spain team played paid as much respect to them as 2008 to 2012 Spain it would have been a terrible match and they wouldn't have even been there imo.

I'm taking them as a team in the context of all the football I've ever seen. I think that's the best way I can phrase it. In that context I don't think they're anything compared to most tournament winners. The standard is low right now, I thought England were well below the level they're capable of and as much as I've defended Southgate, the buck stops with him, watching that admittedly with bias, knowing all of those players, we should have won. I was convinced we would and it hurts/makes me feel mental a bit.

Hear me out, I don't think Spain are anywhere near good enough to have won the tournament, so I think that a team that weren't as good should have won. Italy was hard but I never believed, this was hard because it felt inevitable that we would win. I don't think Spain deserved it and I don't mean that as sour Grapes, although I'm bitter, I just don't think they were that good. Imagine them (or us tbf) against Spain 2012, France 2000, arguably even Germany 1996. I've stuck up for Southgate to the enth degree, take it with a pile of salt, but we lost that imo. I was convinced we'd win that and it does sting.

The rain against Spain is mainly because of Kane. Ahew hew 🤭 Will take that all day long though, nullifying them is very important and as weird as it sounds, this is ideal. If we're up, they up the tempo and we sit back, concede, they have the momentum. If they're up and we have to attack, they're fantastic on the break. If we can make sure that the moment or moments later on are ours, I (as a qualified football professional) think that's the way to do it.

Have a feeling that this one goes 3-1 either way with a lean towards England, but gonna hedge my bets and go: Spain 1-1 England (P)
