Nothing about his profile fits. 27, high fee, high wage

I mean I don't like Klopp, but not knowing if you could get behind England under him and especially whether it would be preferable for Howe to get the job is just absolutely bat shit.
-
Eales is such a management speak guy like. Find it quite funny though.
-
Give it 5 years and it'll have always been everyone's opinion that Southgate was the best England manager in most of our lifetimes.
-
Would obviously prefer England to win something, but if/when we don't it'll at least be some comfort to see all the 'anyone but Southgate would have us winning the Universe Cup' nonces bubbling into their pints when it turns out that doing better than getting to two finals and a semi isn't all that straightforward, regardless of how all-surpassing you might think our players' talent is.

Extremely emotionally damaged fanbase
-
Thought it was going to be one of those weird poetic things where we actually ended up being the things his detractors accused him of then actually winning.
-
I've said it before but Foden having previously been on the other side of that undroppable/unstartable dichotomy makes it all the more baffling. Up until now Southgate wanted nothing to do with him
-
It gets discussed partly because he himself has described it as the ultimate job. I don't think he'll take it but I'd have to be stupid to write it off as a possibility
-
Absolutely ridiculous that he played 5 minutes, did what he did and that was the end of it. Pardew HBA levels of spite.
-
Think we'll be actually get worse tbh.
-
He played one good ball out to Saka in the first half. I noticed it because it was an anomaly. He was absolutely pathetic
-
Ultimately it's all about how it feels. We were worse vs Italy and Croatia but it felt better than this. Southgate has built it up for us to knock him down. Tonight was horrible, I hated how that all unfolded. That 2nd goal was sickening.
-
I do think it'll be a case of be careful what you wish for and Southgate’s reputation will grow over time, but it's definitely time for a change. That was the match where is absolutely had to come together, should have, and didn't.
-
Honestly feel like the only one that was still here this time was Southgate.
-
That Real Madrid team are who we should have been tonight. They're somehow legendry while being absolutely shite, so yes I agree.
-
It's such an easy and obvious thing to say but imagine us tonight under Ancelotti, or even Rafa. A team like Spain tonight are traditionally taught a lesson, they don't have the opportunity to do what they did, it's not good enough.
-
Similarly I think Carvahal is an absolute welp if you attack him, but in matches like tonight if you let him play it smart he will. And we did.
-
100%. No idea where this idea that he's been great has come from. Imo he exploited the perception of him as the weak link when he was left as the man over and we didn't exploit his weaknesses
-
Would agree. Hopefully it's a base to get there (without Howe pls)
-
That's extremely selective
