It won’t make a difference. You don’t shake that sort of Bruceness out instantly, it even took Eddie Howe a month or so before we started showing real progress.
There’s no team we should fear playing now. -
Just watched his post match comments, he’s utterly defeated.
-
They are all beginning to get rattled, more so because we’re doing it sensibly and not following the PSG or City route by buying everyone decent and seeing what shit sticks to the wall.
Seeing all these pricks come out of the woodwork feels like a badge of honour for how we’re being run right now.
-
If Joelinton plays in left midfield again next match, I hope Willock plays left forward, he’s far more capable of beating a man than Murphy, while Maxi is still injured I mean.
I don’t even think Howe knows what his strongest team is currently.
-
He’s an absolute unit, reads the game so well too. His transfer fee is absolutely cheap.. for his potential. Him and Pope and obviously Tripps have added such calmness to the back line.. it allows Schär and Burn to do their thing and know someone will be there to cover for them if they mess up.
-
Feeling a bit more confident now, not that I wasn’t. They will be better than last year but let’s remember, Fwank was tactically outdone by Eddie last year at SJP and we bossed the game at Goodison.. it was a freak few mins and some complacency by us that we didn’t manage to score. We also had Chris Wood, a partially fit Fraser and an out of form Miggy up front in that match.
-
Is he carrying too much weight? Like even when he’s playing games regularly, he sort of has this grimace that he’s constantly in some sort of pain, hobbling around like something is about to break.. yet then he gets the ball and he runs his arse off. He never looks 100% and it’s been that way since he signed.
-
He wouldn’t have started anyway. Murphy has done well in fairness, so wouldn’t be dropped. Not the same level of threat but we are more disciplined.
Could even see Big Joe push forward that side, he tends to pick crosses/passes well in forward positions. Or could be a well open game for Elliott Anderson to make his presence known.
Bit concerning for Maxi though if true.. he’s pretty much been eased back.
-
“It’s not me.. it’s the whole world that’s wrong” is his patter but deep down he knows he’s a leech.
I can’t even accuse him of being a sociopath, it’s more he just hasn’t an ounce of shame.. he’d literally stand in front of a wall and let people throw shit at him if it meant getting a payout at the end of it.
He has a magic number in his head to get him to his death bed and also a few quid to look after his talentless offspring, once he reaches that he’ll ride off into the sunset, but there’ll be a few more suckers to bleed dry by doing a shit job for them before it’s all over. This won’t be his last job.. maybe last job for a year or so until some sucker is desperate enough to roll the compensation dice. But will just be another rinse and repeat.
-
The nufc ship has sailed as far as he is concerned. No hard feelings, we ended up with more than we dreamed we’d be getting at this stage. But I do think he would have developed nicely here, shame.
-
Police were firing tear gas into the crowd which forced a stampede at the back as people were fleeing. In this day and age, with the knowledge of history and things that have happened before, that’s pretty much murder committed by them. ?
-
His stats today were top drawer, especially passing accuracy, 93%+ , he was everywhere and playing with total confidence.
I think it’s fair to say his took an absolute beating in his first few seasons here and he’s come out the other side of it improved and looking hungry to give the manager a doubt whether we need to upgrade that position.
Eddie is gonna have some very tough decisions to make when everyone is fit.
-
We’ve been excellent today
-
That was going in anyway, total shithousery from Wilson to tag on there for the claim ?
-
Maybe Joelinton was dropped as he was fairly shite in the last game, if it had been Longstaff making those mistakes he’d have been butchered on here. I understand how it works, there’s players we like and are prepared to overlook things with at times but it’s either a case of every player should be fair game for a critique or we should be supportive of every player in the side.
So in this case, maybe big Joe missing is purely down to current form.
-
So a bad bruise, he’ll be ok
-
He’s built a bit different from the average footballer so it’s never going to be straight forward with him.
He gets hacked down in almost every game he plays too.. it’s going to add up over time.
Were going to have to develop a style of play where our players don’t need to work as hard to retain possession, and say for the likes of Maxi.. he should really be just breaking the line initially.. passing to someone who can carry the ball to the box and then join in again. He’s always doing too much and it’s not sustainable.
-
So question time, who hypothetically would make way for Maddison if he were to arrive. You would think ASM, Wilson, Isak would be nailed down when at full strength.
So is it someone in midfield to go?
-
Were the boos not directed at Bournemouth for all the nonsense time wasting and feigning injuries that ultimately ran down the clock so effectively? Like the boos were just for a moment and then went to a sort of refrained applause so I didn’t for a minute think the team were the main target of that.
It was easily the most frustrated I’ve been watching us this season but also, if that’s as bad as it gets, we should be fine this season.
-
The last 10 minutes were incredibly frustrating to watch, Bournemouth were delighted to take a point so all that nonsense, pretending to be injured, massive time wasting, I notice none of that got added on for us at the end. Not that I think it would have mattered, we just didn’t look like scoring in the second half.
Bruno wasn’t quite fully fit, but he was given terrible passes all game.. chest height balls that he needed to control to retain possession, momentum lost.
Joelinton didn’t have a great game, he had no outlet to pass to so he pushed further forward and ended up ineffective at both. Lost the ball too much.
Willock looked busy yet never really did anything. I always think of square pegs and round holes when I see him in this side.
Hard to criticise Isak when he barely had a kick, he stepped up when it mattered.
Its not all doom and gloom, we’ll likely have ASM and Wilson back soon, that should see Miggy and Fraser dropped.
-
It’s mental how the situations in the boardrooms of clubs can trickle down so quickly to the playing side.
I mean, Leicester have lost a few players but they still have an excellent side there, no way they should be bottom. So I do sympathise with Rodgers as he’s a solid manager. But as a supporter you tend to only see what’s in front of you when you lose games like that so he’ll obviously be the first thing to their minds. More to it though for sure.
-
Yesssssssss, let’s go now
-
Ah man Isak.. barely had a kick, don’t fuck it up
-
3 minutes ago, David Edgar said:
Kicked him in the face there?
I think he was sort of flipping around in frustration at being fouled and sort of did it accidentally but he definitely swing his leg, I was half expecting VAR to flash up there as it wasn’t a natural leg movement after he was tackled. He was up on his feet and away from the scene of the crime quickly enough ?
