If he has any sort of niggle at all I’m all for rotating, Burn is excellent, as is Schär on his day. My intuition tells me though that when we eventually sign a top class right sided centre back, it will be both Burn and Schär making way. I also wonder how the overall side will shape up when everyone is back and fit.

Man City are weak at the back.
It won’t cost them today, but just watching them this season, they are nowhere near as solid as they used to be.
Im not sure there’s going to be any teams that will have their shit together enough this season to expose them (aside from the CL), but I do agree they are far from perfect at the back. But overall it’s going to be a weird season, 2nd-4th place spots are there for the taking for anyone who can get a run going, including us when/if we have everyone available.

Was it over the line? The tv replays showed every angle other than the one that’s on the line.
God I fucking hate this club more than any of the others at this point. Scummy cunts.

It’s a good move, he’ll probably play the cup games (or league cup at least) but if the coaching team can put the arm around him and start getting some confidence into him then we could have a gem, at one point he was thought of as the natural successor to Neuer back in Germany.

Personally I’d rather we have time to get all of our players back from those little niggles so by all means postpone this one and the one next week. Also gives Isak more of a chance to gel with the system and teammates.

Leicester are done with being competitive for quite some time I’d say. The owners are not doing that well right now and that negativity and uncertainty trickles down as it always does.
The legacy of leaving such good facilities though will pay dividends at some point when they begin developing valuable talent.
Mike Ashley’s wet dream to be honest.

VAR should be run by a totally independent organisation that’s not linked to existing league referees. The issue is that they all have relationships, they look out for each other and although some are better than others, there’s often good ones covering for the terrible ones.
We’re particularly sensitive about this because over just this season and last there have been a number of blatantly wrong decisions that either got looked at or were never deemed an issue to look at. Remember Fraser being taken out of it against City?
Its not an issue with the technology, it’s those using it and they have shown not to be up to the job.

We’ve had an excellent window in fairness and cleared some of the deadwood. Remember, there won’t be a window that we don’t strengthen from now on. I think we can easily get to January in good shape.

Sad to see him leave but it’s unlikely he’d be playing much. Maybe the warm weather will be good for his fitness as well. He’s missed a lot over the last 12 months.

There’s absolutely batshit stuff about Pogba doing the rounds, witch doctors and something about burying a hyena under the pitch at Old Trafford.

Ayoze would be ideal for Howe, really good at pressing, would have him back in a heartbeat.
-
Think a cm would have to fit in with a long term plan so don’t think a loan would work there. A winger is different as unless they are top notch, a player in that position can be hit and miss depending on who they are playing with, or servicing.

Nah he’s slow in general, that Willock run just made it look worse.
Athleticism isn’t his really the best part of his game though so that’s why I wouldn’t want him here
I saw another clip of him just giving up on running back, like just looked really poor. It’s all well and good being able to hit a thundercunt of a goal but in this team you need to do all the other stuff primarily. For balance, I’ve seen Longstaff and Willock do exactly the same thing with tracking back a few times so maybe Howe can work with it and make him fitter.

We looked much better when Targett came on for Burn though.

There were rumours from long before the summer that we were looking to upgrade the goalkeeper position, not making excuses for playing badly but that has to effect your psyche? It’s a strange move to go somewhere else to be another second choice, surely there was another club he could have gone to where he’d have been 1st choice?

Shelvey and Krafth won’t be named in the 25 so how much more trimming do we have to do?
