Yep we’ve come a long way since then.
There were multiple seasons when clubs would be looking at the fixture list thinking we were easy points because we were that bad. Briefly started looking better under Rafa, but we are light years ahead of that side now with quite a few of the same players, remarkable really.

He’s a clown of a journalist/person.
-
-
If they want him to play at the weekend they’ll have to get through it quickly. I’d expect an announcement either tonight or early in the morning.
-
5m is a poxy fee, even for a 33 year old. We shouldn’t be helping them.
-
I have no doubt he wants to play for this club and do his bit but he doesn’t have that attribute of wanting to be the best he can possibly be, his concentration let’s him down and general awareness of what’s going on around him at times.
You'll never see him getting angry and wanting to deck someone (like Joelinton).. like just sort of lacks that fire. He’s happy to run about closing players down and making a nuisance of himself and he’ll take a shot on if given an opportunity but he doesn’t make things happen.
I hope that’s not being cruel, I certainly don’t endorse any abuse he’s gotten. He’s a good lad like, but he needs to realise he has an opportunity here that has a time limit. Like it’s been nearly 4 years since that amazing performance against City in the 2-1 and he’s done fuck all since then. Not all his fault obviously (Bruce etc) but he needs to start stepping up or it will pass him by.

He put in a lovely block/dispossession on one of their players last night in the corner. Their player had a look of “what the fuck was that” as Sven came away with the ball.
The last part of that game was manic and everyone got caught up in it but he did well along with Trippier in calming it down just enough, he’s learning quickly.

Just arriving over British land, wonder who’ll get the first snap of him exiting the plane ☺️

I like that this guy could also drop deeper to play midfield if needed. Basically like another Joelinton on the other side.
-
Straight from horses mouth, Eddie Howe said they are not concentrating on outgoings yet, so this won’t happen until deadline day if it does at all.
The only reason I could think of that they would allow him to leave us if he’s been sulking about being dropped, which if that is the case, move him on.. can’t have any negativity in the squad. But again, would be surprised, lots of our players have name checked him for being a great professional.

Missed most the game. What happened to him?
Sort of innocuous clumsy challenge, fell a bit awkward and then never got back up. Looked in a lot of pain and was carried off on stretcher.Could be ligaments.. the fact there was no heavy contact is the most worrying. I know Tripps is no.1 but not having Krafth will be a miss.
-
Didn’t look good for him going off ?
Be surprised if he’s included in the 25 man squad as could well be unlikely to play again until January.

The Maddison offers just seemed a bit odd, twice or three times bidding a fee that they knew would be turned down?
I just wonder if this stuff is the club getting into the dark arts, unsettling key players at other clubs or maybe just using them to further better value moves elsewhere?
-
If we don’t go for him he will accept West Ham’s offer but this will be like the reverse of Ekitike, they’ll hold out for movement from us for as long as they can.

Just for clarification, is he a striker, or can he play anywhere across the front 3? His YouTube videos + that goal vs Barcelona have him in relatively wide positions.
He can do it all, can play through the middle as well. If he plays to the right of Wilson, with ASM on the other side, that’s pace and power that will put the fear of god into any team.Yes his goal record isn’t amazing but neither is Wilson’s and we all know how good he can be.
-
It’s a signing up there with Haaland and Nunez, he has the pace and power to unsettle any defence in the league. Can be a poacher as well as firing in rockets. He can cover for Wilson but also play left or right.
That’s why they’ve paid the fee, otherwise they would have had to pay the same amount on 2 players.
-
They played that one very close to the chest!

I think Romano was right and now the delay is on our end. Waiting to see the extent of Wilson’s issue.

The bed wetting on here is hilarious, I will start to get worried if there’s still nobody through the door at the start of next week
Any team is only a few injuries away from being a total disaster. We’re the same, perhaps a little more acute in that striker position but overall I think we’re ok at this point. If the window closed I’d still have us down for a top half of table finish, even with a few injuries along the way.A few reinforcements and I think we have a chance of top 6 this year but also important to remember it’s a marathon not a sprint.

We’re not approaching this window with an air of desperation like we did in certain aspects last January.
Chris Wood and Matt Targett wouldn’t have been long term targets, we just lucked out on the latter being a great fit. Wood contributed as well so not gonna slag him off, the fee was mental though but then at the same time, it’s good value when you see the knock on effect he had.
See, we had a squad that started suffering ptsd as soon as they had control of the ball, all they were used to was lumping it forward and it coming right back at them. Chris Wood made a difference in that suddenly the ball wasn’t coming back immediately, it helped the midfield regain some confidence in pushing forward and eventually we started playing some decent football towards end of season.
For example, if we’d bought Joao Pedro in THAT team last January, those things mentioned above may not have happened and we could be having a very different conversation about the future of the club right now.
-
Paqueta will happen. We’re waiting because they are desperate for the cash to balance their books. It has to happen before the deadline for them, summer too late. They will accept a lower fee and we’ll have our primary target.
I suspect the Maddison move was all a ruse to raise doubt. LP has been a primary target all summer.

Here’s a question, I’m aware of who Romano is only through his tweets. Whether he’s a tap in merchant or whatever or someone full of shit like Luke Edwards is irrelevant.
If we only ever repost his tweets and never read any of his articles, how on earth do they generate income for him? Like what’s the point of it all?
-
Players who have lots of injuries tend to be ultra sensitive to any little niggle or strain that other players might pay no attention to.
Hopefully in this case, Wilson is being overly cautious and nothing shows up.

I really hope you’re wrong about McHideaway.. for a manager who frequently references bravery, it would be a terrible move, plus he’s been one of the nucleus of a toxic club, don’t want any of those vibes near this squad.
