Any change of Wor Flags bringing out the rainbow colours for this? Or would that get them in trouble with Amanda?

Find it slightly weird, UAE have never played at the Etihad, Qatar played at Paris?
They go on about not being owned by the state, but want their National side here.
If it became a regular thing I'd wonder why, if its just a one off then I'd try not to overthink it too much.
They don’t actually ‘go on’ about not being a state. In the documentary they dismiss it as ‘rubbish’. I wouldn’t mind a bit of going on if it meant they could explain decisions like this one in more detail

Hopefully protests and a mass boycott.

Wasn’t there some Jose quote, something like ‘And of course we always wait for Newcastle’ I always loved that, and emblematic of the respect he had for us. I don’t care, I still quite like him.

How seriously are city going to take this game tomorrow night?

Don’t think he said anything particularly unfair, to be honest. He writes for the Sun though so is obviously a cunt

I’d love to know what Pep was tearing into Haarland about at half time when he pushed the camera away
Apparently Haarland had had a go at Silva about not passing to him. It would have been a dangerous pass as Silva was the furthest advanced midfielder or something

After originally fancying us to beat Villa 4-2 or 4-3, and toning down to a 2-2, I’m going with my gut instinct. 2-1 to us. Which was the score the only time I’ve seen us win at The Ethihad.
2-0?

Couldn't be arsed with them thinking they've got the moral highground on fewmin rights marra
We'd need a counter display of some sort
Would quite happily play them on the pitch though. We'd humiliate them
We should tell our players to take the knee

I'd be a devasted man if the roles had been reversed.
Watching them making huge strides whilst we languished in the doldrums with nothing to cling to but our hatred of their existence.
It'd be soul destroying.
I’m actually extra nice to Sunderland supporting fans, not to be patronising- though that’s what they always accuse me of. Just because I know how terrible it must be for them and really what’s the point in bragging. Game’s over, we won.

I don’t miss the unbelievable amount of anxiety you’d feel around 10ish in the pub that’s opened early for the derby. Was class how it brought so many people into the pubs and that though.
It did become a wanky little event mind. Got a bit tiresome seeing people on social media with no interest in football talking about all day drinking on derby day

Aye, the Pardew teams were weak as piss in terms of intensity. The likes of Joelinton would love that atmosphere.
I just feel zero compulsion to play the cunts. None whatsoever. I’ve seen us beat them plenty of times.
You wouldn’t enjoy the build up to the day? I can’t imagine how excited everybody would be

First year we qualified for the ‘Champions League’ - by finishing second - was also a season where they were relegated by finishing second bottom.
We scraped a late Alan Shearer equaliser for a 1-1 at SJP.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the current side beats them nine times out of ten. But the idea that we’re guaranteed x or y result by a huge score line is simply not the case.
But I’d still be more concerned by a useless sack of shite like O’Nien putting Bruno out for the season.
Thing is though, even if they beat us, well so what? They will have their fun but be unable to ignore the ever growing chasm between the clubs. We’ll have to move on quickly anyway as the Champions’ League will be back soon enough. It’s easy to say the small club has nothing to lose, free hit etc, but I think it can work both ways

Is there a reason why the extended highlights are always 10 minutes (and a few seconds)? Yesterdays didn't even include the Wilson missed chance for example. They pretty much never include any saves from Pope neither, obviously it's because they want to show our attacking play, but I find it very annoying and quite disrespectful to Pope tbh
They always faff on for about a minute showing the team lining up etc as well

Firstly, he now does the captain’s column in the programme. It’s called something like ‘The Leadership Group’ page.
secondly, after our third goal he went over to the players massed in the corner and sternly tapped his wrist, presumably reminding them about the new time keeping rules and urging them to cut short the overlong celebration. That’s incredible attention to detail. I bet no other club has even thought about keeping an eye on that.

Was good fun in the standing bit, but that Tonali chant…no.
-
Brave and unlucky defeat. Feels like a last minute sickener job.
-
I’m scared that if I tell Sandro Tonali my feelings it might ruin our friendship and make things weird

I have a bit of a 94/95, 03/04, 12/13 feeling about this season. Just thought I'd let yous know
That 12/13 opener against spurs was weird. We won, and I did my best to act like it was a continuation, but deep down I think we all knew how unconvincing it was

Correct, and that's why Liverpool have not built a new stadium even when you consider 2 extensions costing almost 200m. Both stands have ceilings too.
So that’s what Klopp meant

Exile has went the Graham Linehan route to complete madness. Monomania coupled with crippling dopamine addiction.

Whether that’s true or not, I don’t see the relevance. He’s still going to want his daughter to be with a millionaire isn’t he? Perhaps even more so if it’s a lifestyle he’s comfortable in.
