Matchday 3 (for both CL or EL) is on/around my wife's 40th birthday.

So aye, we're getting a glamour trip somewhere mint that week. Just how life always works out for me I'm afraid

    Simply divorce your wife.

I don't think we could. Brighton are far better than Spurs. That hammering we gave Spurs was as a result of various shitty things going on with them, coupled with our good run of form. This Brighton team will barely let us have 6 shots on target, let alone ship 6 goals.

We had been beaten the week before by Villa. Hammered, in fact. What’s so different about our form now?

  3. Feel like there’s not enough being said about this. Shouldn’t Leeds be punished for failing to secure the safety of opposition managers?

I assumed there were fewer and fewer tickets for each pot? What's the point in pots at all if everyone was in the same ballot?

Almost certain this was not the case- people in period six were talking about getting one about half an hour before my mate in period four heard about his.

If only we had some way of asking the club!

Although, even then, separate draws wouldn’t make a huge deal of difference. It would mean that those in pot four had tickets deliberately withheld from them, which is basically the main crux of the point anyway.

Period 7 which I’m not sure they even reached and if so a minute fraction. Again they could’ve been previous ST holders who held a  ST longer than those who had one currently.

Also like match day tickets possibly law that a tiny % has to go on general sale.

The fact we sold out every round would suggest these people would’ve had to be lucky to of got one in the general sale queue out of the 4 home games then have the luck to be picked in a massive queue for a final ticket. Literally a winning lottery ticket!

Are we still allowed to talk about this?

I was in pot four. Once the draw had been done, people in pot six were talking about getting a ticket. So unless they had a separate draw for those in pot seven, everybody was put into the same draw. While it’s true that few would have actually got one, there was no advantage to being in pot four instead of seven.

I don’t think I especially deserved a ticket more than anybody else with a season ticket  who got one. I was only at the two cup game I was physically able to get to- Tranmere away and Palace at home- and I’m sure people had worse luck than me. But it’s hard to get rid of the bad taste in the mouth when you hear from friends at Wembley who were told to sit down and shut up and see people on here who constantly talk like season ticket holders (excluding those like those in the trust you mentioned earlier who had their own winning lottery ticket  in the 2022 scramble) are some sort of Ashley quislings.

I agree with whoever said this is a boring topic, and have no interest in arguing, but it’s clear from Twitter and this place on the day that there was a single draw for everybody in the ballot (period seven included) and I think that needs to be sorted next time. Just make it a straightforward loyalty process, as with away games.

Just been talking about ticketing in general with a mate this morning after he was given queue number 27,000 odd for Leicester today. Surely the sensible thing to do now is to take membership privileges away from season ticket holders (ie allowing to buy extra home tickets) and reduce their season ticket price by the £30 or £35 the extra membership fee costs that's been added to it.

They already have their seat. They don't need another one and members should be in front of them in the queue for home tickets.

    Agree with this

Don't think it was the same ballet but even if it was why should a season ticket holder who maybe jumped in the bandwagon 2 or 3 years ago be placed higher up than a former season ticket holder of 30+ years who wrapped it in when Bruce was appointed and is now a member?

The reason I ask is that I know of people in both camps.

As far as I'm aware all a season ticket guarantees is your seat at SJP for 19 League games and as a perk they usually allow you to purchase your own seat for Cup games unless you sit in Level 7. Nothing else.

Oh yes, the Steve Bruce gloryhunters

I’m not sure that was same ballot mind?

It was. Don’t people remember? We had this all at the time. There was one single ballot for everybody who wasn’t in the first three pots. The timings of people finding out when they had tickets proves it.

How was it unfair though? Of the people I go to the match with more of thought it was fair than unfair.

Season ticket holders with two cup games were placed into a ballot with members who had attended one cup game. It was quite obviously unfair. There should not have been a ballot unless needed. The club seemed to tacitly accept this when offering returns to only those people in pot four.

They said to me they’d been asked by the club about it and that’s what they said. Like I said pretty accurate if made up and strange to say they’d been asked if they hadn’t.

From a cynics perspective they’ve seemed to listen.

For the cup final a mate of mine has had a season ticket for over 30 years but works late during the week so misses the majority of week games and he didn’t get a ticket yet you had people who’d been to one cup game getting them.

@LFEEare you one of the true faith lot? If so what do you think of their takeover

I was in the same boat as your mate, and will also just be purchasing tickets for every round now, hopefully able to sell them on.

  11. I remember on the morning of the Leeds game, somebody was already putting Leeds (a) on the loss sheet. When it was reasonably pointed out that that was a bit silly, said poster told us to come back at full time. It was stupid even if we had been turned over (and it’s easy to forget that Leeds were strong favourites) and really does illustrate this need people have for managers to fail. All a bit weird.

He's incredible and it's class how he's unanimously adored but my guilty pleasure is to read from page 560 as a reminder it wasn't always this delightful, a fair number of people had turned on him

Blimey. Just did this. Would recommend to others.

Long shot but if you ever get the opportunity to buy a ST again maybe give them your old membership number and see what happens ?‍♂️but I doubt it will happen because…

…If it makes you feel any better I know for a fact there are those on the board and we’re recently on the board who give up their STs and the ones successful in getting one of the 1000 on sale their points had all gone. Just not sure if they asked the question about keeping their old membership number during the process.

Out of interest, how many of those in the board who gave theirs up were successful getting one back?

Without going round in circles like many did in February I’ll repeat my opinion that I had then. The criteria the club came up with was by and large extremely fair and covered the full scope of the fan base.

Only issue I had personally with it was players etc getting 20+ tickets each (if true).

I’ll indulge you though. What was your issue with it?

You don’t have to indulge me mate! I’m equally fine not talking about it. But I don’t view fairness as covering the full scope of the fanbase. I would have seen fairness as rewarding those who have paid to go to the most games.

But whatever, the point is they were given a say in that they were allowed to say if it was bad idea to cut out some season ticket holders and they chose not to. Were you given that much of a say? I wasn’t

  16. 32 minutes ago, LFEE said:

That’s not true. The club consulted them on the cup final for their opinion which any good club should do. However ultimately the club went ahead and did what it always intended to. Don’t recall them ever being consulted on STs.

The mistake the NUST made regarding the cup tickets was accepting the invite of consultation then not consulting its own members. This was due to the window of consultation being 24hrs approximately. In my view they should’ve kindly refused the offer if not enough time to consult its members or pulled their fingers out and emailed their members a quick survey and deadline to respond. They did neither which will of damaged their reputation further especially with people like yourself who are already sceptical.

The point however still remains that what you said is wrong. The club did what it wanted to on the cup tickets and (to my knowledge) didn’t consult anyone on STs and again made their own decisions.

The club should have been told that the way they distributed tickets was unfair, which the trust were given the opportunity to do.

Well why can’t they start on women’s games or non league, work themselves up to the top? IMO they’ve been skyrocketed right to the top based on gender alone.

I agree that they’re highly scrutinized and under the microscope but they’re not succeeding and living in the moment, they’re folding under the pressure and the little things you hear on football commentary aren’t there like anecdotes or analysis. They’re usually two to three seconds behind the play but what? I’m supposed to feel sorry for them? Perhaps they’d be more comfortable at a slower paced game like women’s football for instance.

Feel like pure shit just want anecdotes back
